On strange new world, I made it thru episode 3 or 4 of discovery season 2, and never returned.

Strange new world 5 episodes in is about the best star trek has been since maybe ds9.  The show looks amazing, the characters  are all interesting it leaves you with the sense of adventure that originL star trek gave you as a 10 year old. But. The episodes are written in a way where you want to figure out mission with capt. Pike.

I can't think of a more complete Sci fi show ever...you are missing out, it gives flashbacks to I assume discovery so as your not lost.

Sliders: "As Time Goes By"

I have the original run universal dvds,  which season 3 seams to be a direct transfer from.

SEASON 1 is fuzzy, but also more defined than the dvd's.. this is a free show on peacock, with very few commercial breaks
.  The episode order seems to be broadcast, but so are the dvds, the show will play in broadcast order with no stops if you want, season 2 looks slightly better.

Just started season 3, watched most of season 5, and to me it looks great.

Granted my TV is 4k 65" vs an old 32" LG, so maybe it has more to do with tv, but I'm enjoying my rewatch.

Trying to get my wife into it, but she isn't a fan, views Quinn as a bad guy getting them involved in sliding, without solving the equation or really testing it before he took the group on the adventure.  The recast of the mom in season 2, and casting Clevants twin witch doesn't look identical to anyone but the cast is throwing her for a loop...(I was not a fan of Harry Potterrewatches, so she's dishing it back:)

I would imagine the missing tag, is the same as the season 4 episode cifornia Reich, they land on the new world Quinn says we got like 2 minutes here, Wade walks up to a business man says, is this a world were women are raped, and your fighting for your life, he looks at her weird and says no. She says I think this will be a great place for you, then the sliders open the portal, jump thru and leave her behind.

Peacock has probably the clearest closest to hd Sliders has ever had, watching "Map of the Mind" today.  So when Diane is drawing on the walls you can clearly see it has a pencil mark on the wall and she I'd just tracing with black marker.

It's a goof I've never noticed, granted it is a rarely watched episode for me

In the 90's was probably its best chance for success, star trek tng and xfiles made Sci fi cool, Quantum Leap had been off the air just long enough people were looking for a substitute it was a easy sell quantum leap meets twighlight zone.  Fox was the only one having trouble, they put it in Friday, it delivered OK ratings, it actually had goid ratings in yr 1 after 90210, out performing the show it replaced party of 5, but po5 was the audience fox was after.

If xfiles hadn't exploded in that Friday night then the numbers sliders and millennium were delivering would of impressed fox more, tgif on ABC was a juggernaut that would take cbs stilling its best shows 4 years later to destroy.

Saying that,
So if this reboot was to happen, Quinn 1995, displaced lives of 4 people that outside of the professor were not established and even he didn't really ever bring up the fact that Quinn destroyed his career by him dissapearing with no notice from the University.

Saying that, if using original cast, I would assume trying to continue the original show to some extent, if the show just plays it as the team has been stuck on the same world for 29.7 years, how upset will the team be that he screwed with their lives again, so they could be old men sliders, going to dangerous places?

Of course the team could be stuck on a earth with limited resources and the better choice is to slide.

The show was shot in Vancouver, B.C. in the 1st 2 seasons then The California Universal Studios back lot for yrs 3 to 5.  THE Pilot had a few scenes of Rembrandt driving around San Francisco.

Yeah and Disney is employing The main star, and some of the supporting players, wonder if the Streamer would go for another movie durring Summer hiatus of The Rookie, Joss would have to get it together fast, could happen though

I have a shocking confession to make: I never finished watching ENTERPRISE.

The third season was a mess for the first half, opening with a nonsensical attack on Earth from the Xindi who were testing their planet annihilating weapon (and were so polite as to give Earth fair warning a year before they planned to destroy it totally!?!?). But as the season progressed, Season 3 dived away from NEXT GENERATION style single-episode stories and fully into an ongoing arc. As ENTERPRISE examined Starfleet ideals versus the horrors of an impending war, ENTERPRISE seemed to finally find a voice in showing STAR TREK's ideals being built before our eyes instead of existing as a settled state of affairs. New showrunner Manny Coto was a godsend.

Season 4 was also great, offering eight STAR TREK movies with its multi-episode stories. The first dealt with the Temporal Cold War and the shadow of the Nazis that the original series had always faced. The second addressed genetic engineering and attempted to give all the characters personalities as opposed to defining them by their jobs. We saw Trip, Mayweather and Phlox going to a bar on Earth! We saw the bridge crew playing basketball together! Season 4 was far too late to fully define them in an episode or two, but ENTERPRISE made them FEEL like people at last.

Also wonderful was Archer's definition: his blandness across three seasons finally solidified into clarity. Kirk was a man of action. Picard was a diplomat. Sisko was a cultural anthropologist. Archer is defined in Season 4 as a pilot, a man who is perpetually thrown into the deep end and will find SOMETHING to do whether it's trying to stop the genetically engineered soldiers from releasing a virus or trying to save as many Vulcans as he can. His fundamental decency and Scott Bakula's earnest screen presence finally made Archer come alive, and there's a beautiful sense of what Captain Archer stands for when he convinces the Tellarites and the Andorians to make find common ground and make peace.

Then we came to the two-part finale for the year where ENTERPRISE confronts anti-alien sentiment and... I didn't finish it. I liked Season 4 so much that I didn't want it to end. So I never watched the "Terra Prime" finale and only read the script for "These Are The Voyages."

**

I have another shocking confession: I never finished reading the ENTERPRISE relaunch novels. I read the first one, LAST FULL MEASURE, which is set during Season 3 during the Xindi hunt. It has a framing sequence where an old man meets a child named James Kirk. The ending returns to the framing sequence and reveals the old man to be Trip Tucker, alive decades after his onscreen death in the series finale. The second novel, THE GOOD THAT MEN DO, has a framing sequence where Jake and Nog are reviewing the historical files of the holodeck simulation in "These Are The Voyages" and realize that the entire story is a cover up to obscure Trip going undercover to investigate a mysterious conspiracy that turned out to be the start of the Romulans waging war on Earth and Vulcan.

... I never got around to reading THE ROMULAN WAR duology which, I assume, depicts Archer, Trip and T'Pol playing Battleship and Risk. I also never got around to reading the five-book series RISE OF THE FEDERATION, which I assume is a five volume cookbook series where Trip reveals his family's baking secrets and how to do Tucker style souffles and bread.

Anyway. Bought the lot just now. I guess I'll finally finish "Demons" and "Terra Prime" and get to reading.

Also the holodeck is suppose to be an intriguing game/movie adventure world for the protagonist, so you do have to wonder what aspects of the story were changed so the player (Ricker) could have a fun adventure.

Was a weird way to end the show and the franchise period, the fact that PatMount couldn't convince upn to make a 2 hour movie ending so the show could end on episode # 100 was also showing how far the Dynasty has fallen.  Overall it was a budget episode to end the series, If they wouldn't of killed the most liked member of the crew probably wouldn't of been as bad.

I like Enterprise despite its flaws, probably the show I like the most mainly because my young kids like it the Dr. Phlox, the intro song and the dog help.  It has stayed in constant syndication ever since it was canceled so that's good to.

The thing with Farscape, I was talking with a friend who watched Farscape through Amazon Prime, apparently the Peacekeeper Wars (the series final episodes) are not part of the package so he just believed it abruptly ended at the end of year 4.  I Remeber it was also a show supported by the early internet in that it had a few episodes online only.  Farscape was a well done scifi show that I never could get into, did not like the camera movement.

Saying that do wonder how many fans are out their that have no idea that it had an ending, I had to find it on dvd for him to see the ending.

The Flash's Audience has had 90's Flash represented in the new show as Barry's dad and has appeared as several variations of Flash over the series, so probably the biggest hero they could kill, outside of Arrow that wasn't needed for continuing arrowverse tv adventures.

Plus he has been on the show since episode #1.

I mean elongated man nor kid flash would of done anything, maybe Joe West could of reappeared to sacrifice his life but he isn't a meta human

Sbtb, has had a huge following over the years, and would be easy to do on the cheap, so no surprise their.  Punky Brewster didn't really do much in syndication after the show was over, but, America has fond memories and the original actress wants to do it, another cheap show, smart for nbc.  AP Bio, NBC tried 2years, never could make it a hit, but is said to have strong web presence.

Being that all 4 are IP's with different degrees of web precence, I would think Sliders could have a chance of a rebirth, no idea if ownership issues would make it more complicated, but looks like they are leaning heavily on nastalgia for old owned IP's  which is smart at launch because potential customers will be driven to pick up stuff they remember fondly.

I would say if we want Sliders sooner vs later, we'll have to hope this strategy works, if old ip's sell the service they will look for others to win the war, if not then we'll have to wait for the next wave

From my understanding, the Sony, Venomverse, makes no mention of Spiderman specificaly because Sony was afraid of any character that was from the Spiderman universe that they own,  but used in any movie in the joint universe could potential y lead to Disney having a stake in the ownership for story development reasons.

Honestly cant ame Sony, the deal was beneficial to Disney, as th hey invest very little and get 5 percent off the top.  Plus, Sony still has no idea I'd their Spiderman universe movies will work, Sony hasn't had a true bomb yet.

Well ownership and rules have changed a lot over the last 25 years.  Everyone needs their own owned content for streaming apps now, anything SyFy does will be with the intent to create content for the Universal App coming out later this year early 2020.

The Original Sci Fi network was made because Universal had a huge backlog of Science Fiction tv and movies and they were their to air them and a couple of cheaply made news shows about sci fi tv. For original content.

Sliders being canceled by Fox was an unexpected gift to the network, because the only new shows that they aired was seaquest repeats, Mantis, flash, alien nation and some other fox dramas that had bomb over a season or less.

They had budgets like any network, and Sliders was filmed in LA not VA, and even after cuts was budgeted way higher than the channel could afford, yr 1 was offset by paying for 22 episodes and getting 48 episodes for next to nothing to give them fresh programming for their network.

Yr 2 on Sci Fi, was a budgetary nightmare as Universal their owners wanted 88 for syndication purposes and SciFi had very little money left in their budget, with new shows, a ambitious Star Trek Original Series pickup, that would include showing interviews  and uncut for syndication episodes.

Sci Fi did have a great deal with MGM, as MGM had all their shows already in the local Syndication machine, needing Sci Fi to only pay for 1st run , at a reduced rate as they would get the back end in yr2 off local syndication.

Sci Fi network has saved a number of shows over the years.
Sliders, Andramada, Poltergeist, Outer Limits, Star Gate, Mystery Science Theater. To name a few, also Fox wouldn't of resurrected Alien Nation for TV movies if not for the ratings off SciFi,  have to wonder if The Flash would of been remembered as fondly if not for repeated repeats on scifi network.

Just saying not as vicious a network as you may think, its ran cheaply now, because over 25 or so years they never found a way to get main stream ratings.  Also when Ghost Hunters and Scare Tatics get you huge ratings and cost next to nothing it is hard to justify the cost of a drama on the network.

They did the same thing for the awful final season of Andramada, when the shows production company fell apart.

Also, if it wasn't for Sci Fi most of MGM's Showtime TV efforts Poltergeist/outer Limits/Stargate wouldn't of recieved final seasons or had a extra 3 to 5 seasons.

Sci Fi was the Netflix show saver at one point in its life, loved the channle in late 90s most of 2000's until WWE came in then it lost me, but my dad who hates Sci Fi, loves their cheaply made monster movies, so I guess loose a viewer gain a viewer.

I like enterprise season 1 and 2, yes boring television but most episodes can be watched with the kids, Xindi season was mainly awful, season 4 was an improvement, but 3 to 4 part episodes are apain to watch.

The thing Enterprise has going for it, was from day 1 likeable cast, crew was more believable in job they had.

Bacula made an horribly written character likeable most of the time.

The episodes mostly are not just rehashes, of old trek whereas Voyager was just take old tng episodes and revamp them.

Also, Entsrprise did a good job of leaving you wanting more, where as Voyager you were thankful the ride was over.

Their is intresting how much a trek you can watch with your kids is more important to me, I fell in love with Trek at an early age with original Trek, yet I cant let my young kids watch Discovery.

Very much a miscalculation in my mind, same with The Orville no reason to not just keep it PG and get bigger audience, older folks don't care, and not everyone wants the dark show Discovery has become.

I like Voyager more now than I did when it was 1st run.  It is better if you haven't seen previous Star Treks.  The problem is similar to Sliders in that strong 1st season, then the show just gets lost in yr 2,  the diffrence of course Star Trek Voyager had higher stakes being a Paramount show needed to launch the network. The Borg for what it is worth defined the show, 7 of 9 was a definite improvement and very much needed with the blandest crew in Star Treks history.

As said, a show that should be majorly crew driven with the lost in space element, had the blandest crew, they had a Vulcan, but he did little on most episodes, they had Nelex but he was mostly annoying like having Screach from saved by the bell as part of the crew, same with Chakotay, a great idea, the Indian spirits and Marquis Captain should of been cool idea but they could never make it work.

ILL give Voyager credit in that it being self contained does help it repeat better than ds9

I'll add that, I as a forum member/ reader I never assumed that one guys opinions on bboard, even if he claims his opinion represents everyone on the bboard, were a true representation of everyone on the bboard.  So I didn't need the update,  myself.

I found the political discussion to be honest, I'm down the middle, and have people on both sides, so was a nice thing to see diffrent points of view.

I'll miss another point of view.

I'll add that my views may not represent everyone on the bboard, but maybe they do.

Technicaly Season 4 with the network jump on the 25% budget cut, Universal had to write all new contracts so Sabrina had the option to resign, she played her hand, Kari was a movie star being part of the spring J-Lo hit Anaconda, she was also cheaper.  So universal went with her.

Do agree all of the character write outs could of been better, especially being that they had to pay JRD for the rest of yr3, by the way they wrote him out, meaning he could of just turned on tge team during Exodus, and reveled himself to be the alternate evil professor from PTSS, and continued as the big bad the rest of the season, looking for a way back to his home world, saving universal money, with not having to weirdly recast Rickman.

This could lead to a final, where they stop alt Professor and have hope of finding our Proffessor in the future.  When they start Yr 3 could simply, start in the back.of a church, at a wedding, talking about how sad it was to leave Wade without saying goodbye, but she deserved happy wedding day.

No Quinn is easy as well, team wakes up in kromagg jail, plan is made to continue sliding, Quinn is leading a couple Slides ahead and leaving behind parts to combine into a weapon to stop kromaggs.

Honestly yr 5 would of just gave in, 6 episodes for 18 withhis brother, would be ok, Charlie was good enough for what was being presented, sure both replacements were better actors, but Sliders didnt have the budget to support a show that wasa serious drama that needed top notch acting.

I mean  Slider Maggie, did at least have a purpose for Sliding, the original group did not have the know how to track Rickman.  Finding him to stop a Madman that was on a killing spree and getting the timmer with the cordinates to get the team home was logical motivation to slide with our team.

It was the end of season 3, Maggie risking her health to slide to an Earth that she had just been to  3 months prior, she cant breath their, and last mission was their for an hour, before her lungs were going into cardiac arrest.

She also knows from her last 20 or so slides Quinn has very little idea how the Sliding device works.  No matter what the promise was, Quinn couldn't deliver.

Collin, was just flat out mislead,  Quinn and team did show him fantastic technology, can't blame him for joining.  But, again at some point resentment should of shown, when he figgured out how little the team knew about sliding, and how much danger he was in from not only sliding to random worlds but, Kromaggs being on every other world.

Dianna and Mallory made very little sense, as the technology to combine the Quinn's was on Diana's home world, and sliding for the heck of it, to seperate the Quinn's and hope to land  on a Earth that has the tech to do this, Again Diana was never really told what dangers lie ahead how she could meet up with Kromaggs or that they have little idea how the timer works.

The reason season 1, 2 and the 1st part of season 3 work, is that, for the most part 4 likable people are put into outrageous situations and have realistic reactions to what is going on.

They meet the Kromags but assume naively that this was just an issue for this world, too big a problem to solve.

The team actually does get angry for Quinn and decisions that effect the group.  The group also works because the team has nothing going on at Earth Prime, nobody has any substantial relationships outside of Quinn and his Mom, Wade and her family, Rembrandt and his agent.  Thats it, at least all that is presented, Quinn and Wade dont care about their jobs.  Quinn's just at college for the heck of it, he is smarter than everyone at the college.  The Professor has a career but it is never represented as anything he misses, even though it defines who he is. Rembrandt is an out of work singer, with very little prospect for a come back.

Sliders, was always the show that started out great had a great premises in season 1, got a little lost in season 2, went off the rails with bad movie remakes in season 3, then season 4 was a major drop in budget and kromaggs every other episode season 4, season 5 somehow with no budget and the cast gone became as good as season 2 from a couple episodes in till the end.

The show was always to ambitious and was so close to great television, many times it was ahead of its time, as badly done as Season 5's Net Worth was we are living in a world that is very close to that world.

The problem with the show in this binge world is telling anyone its a great show, it was 88 episodes yet 2ndary characters such as Quinns Dad, mom, Wades family,  Rickman, etc. are recasted sometimes in season.  The original cast plus Collin all meet gruesome deaths.  Yet, we are suppose to root for a show that
shows our earth overtaken by Nazi Space Ape Men that we are left in slave camps.

The show needs a reboot like Battlestar Galactica recieved, just not as dark.

She would be in the middle of shooting Sports Night pilot and auditioning for any other pilots that season.  Sports Night was basically a sure thing with the synergy between abc and espn, but saying that, I'm sure if they all wanted it to happen the schedules could of easily aligned. In season 5 she was shooting Sports Night season 1, which made a full schedule yet she originally planned to shoot an episode which turned into a voice over.

Same people involved, so I assume she probably did tell Jerry if  a descent script, pay, timing lined up she would be on-board for a 1 shot.

Career wise Sliders ending for her helped her career as Sports Night, lead to many tv projects

Jerry was very invoglved in the executive producer role during the 1st 13, it looked like scifi was the answer to all the issues fox had put on the show, the budget was smaller, but their was no reason for him to believe that his friends wouldnt come in and do a guest spot as a favor (Sabrina wasn't yet cast on Sports Night yet), Sliders was never out of production between fox and scifi years, scifi sat on the show for nearly a yeat before airing it.

I don't know if Jerry really understood how angry JRD was with the show or thought since most of the execs in charge durring the Fox years JRD, his mentor would probably do it for Jerry....I would assume the stipulations would of been insane to get his guest spot, same for Sabrina.

I would also think script approval would be a big deal.  Cant imagine anything on the back 9 being good enough for JRD.

I do believe in season 4 the Sliders team mentioned the rediculous rule that if they took the guy and his mom from the racist world to the  next it was a one way trip and they would leave them were ever they got to.

Here is the thing at this point it would just need to be a reboot, the baggage of season 3/4/5. is to much, sure borrow elements, upside down twisters, dinos, zombies aren't the worst of ideas, nor is a bad guy, Col. Rickman was badly done, so was most of Sliders, it was that show so bad it was good years 3 to 5.  Season 2 had lost the fun energy and wonder of adventure.

I f rebooted how does it keep from being a fun adventure in the get go to a depressing drama as the seasons unfold and their truly seems to be no way home and every world is a slight variation of hell on Earth

yeah, I always figured having the possible child that Quinn may of had from the planet where women were in the majority.  He would have only his dads  photo, and the legend he was a Slider, maybe his Mom passed away, and she didnt feal that his living in secrecy would be a good life, so he constructs the sliding device to search for his dad.

You know Chris Carter also had Millenium a show that got 3 seasons on Fox, had cast changes and concept changes every season and only got a 3rd season by Chris Carter kicking the wong/morgan off the show and completely overhauling the show for yr3 with a new ep, chip johnson.   Watch yr1, episode 1 then any episode in yr3, only Lance and the daughter are still around.

This from a guy Fox liked, either you know when to roll or they cancel ypu

If you never have had to manage a train wreck trying to please several people, keeping morale up, and trying to deliver a finished product that please, audience, network, and studio, then you will never appreciate what david p. did for Sliders, like ir or not Fox didn't want Tracy Torme's vision for the show all mkt research said young men liked Dinosaurs and space aliens, X-Files and Jurasic Park had proven this, and when Sliders did it ratings had spiked.  Maggie was more the type of Fox girl that could sell the show.

Going tp Sci Fi, they wanted a darker show with more aliens and scifi elements on 3/4 the Fiox budget, Astanding set was needed, it was the same set used from season 3, yes it got rediculous the amount it was redressed in the 1sr 13 of season 4, but towards the end of yr4 and yr5 they got better at using other lot space.

letting freinds get jobs is the Hollywood way and life in general, easy slider wiuld of been no better with a different actress.

20years ago as i watched my favorite show go down the tubes, I did blame 1 man, but if david wiuld of bern Tracy 2.0 he would of just got replaced midway through season 3, season 3 may have got cancelled leaving you with no show at all.

The flash, always intended to have killer frost be involved same with Firestorm, as the Flash universe was going to use the Firestorm universe for a bigger rouge gallery.

Firestorm. became less involved when they decided he was going to go full time in legends of Tommorrow so the recast happened, with Jax taking over for Ronnie, The Caitlin story now got muddled as their plans changed.

I remeber from interviews during season 1 that they were very aware of the killer frost connection and waiting to use her.

On Tom, do agree having 5 different versions

yeah, Ben Afflec had written in his contract that he would appear as batmam/bruce wayne in up to 10 films. As the plan was to have him be the Nick Fury role of the DC Extend Universe.  No idea why all of the JLA actors wouldn't have similar deals especially being that they were following the marvel film formula.

With Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Suicide Squad being big hits Superman, JLA, BvsS making big money no idea why they would change directions, a JLA using a Aquaman and Wonder Woman that audiences apparently like, keep Calvin Superman, and if Afflec is out just workaround it with Batman not answering the call, or have bruce out of commission with Azreal showing up in the Batman costume, could do after effects of the Bane storyline, with the team dealing with Azreal Batman.

With W

i have to give season 5 credit while they reused the same 4 sets over and over, they did a much better job then season 4 staff of disguising the sets, season 4 it was 10 episodes in a row using the Chandler set for everything till they got late in the season using the timecop set, western set etc

suposedly season 1 was pre sold to netflix world wide except usa, the liscencing fee made it virtually free to cbs to air on cbs all access.  Well Netflix did not get tge viewership promised soCBS basically has a year to fix it and get viewership up so they can continue to demand the liscencing fee.  That and while helping CBS All Access getting their streaming service numbers up they arent highenough

Must be doing something The capt is getting a spin off, Picard isgetting a spin off, and anew cartoon is coming

i believe it had more to do with very late in production reshoots, after, joss took over and the studio wanted a lighter tone, wb needed the shots, paramount didnt, it was either wb take away mustache or paramount superimpose it back in

makes since, as it was as close to the source material as any of the movie inspired episodes they made in the series.

it is odd they felt the need to randomly slide in hopes of running into someone that could unmerge the quinns, if it was to pursue dr geiger because he would have a cure, or diana knew of possible earths with the tech to fix them.

instead it was random sliding with hopes of a solution to something Rembrandt hadn't experienced in his 5 previous yeats of sliding

the problem with sliders was as crazy as everything was on the show the main 4 were grounded in reality pre season 4, it was always what 4 people from our earth would do if they went from alternate earth to alternate earth.  I think the problem for me was after, season 5 premiere their was now a risk that had never been of jumping through the vortex and merging with an alternate youand now being a diffrent person, also Collin disintegrated in the vortex.

more should of bern said of how it is safe to travle through the vortex or the risk vs rewards.

its not like he fell off the face of the earth, he was in crossing jordan, a much bigger hit then sliders was.  he has been in several movies had a couple sitcoms that bombed carpoolers, and we are men. also the fact that legends, team arrow, supergirl, or even superman could potentially help makes team flash look even stupider

it was relatively realistic if you ever put together a low budget movie, from a moody young director that cant get anyone to do stuff  that had to be done, to working around sudden cast changes.

the high school relationship stuff was good, other than a rewrite of a major charactor half way through because of 10 episode wouldnt allow a natural shift in personality

like almost every historic show we sometimes want to rewrite history...

It was a little to depressing for my wife, but the 90s was a weird time where the future was coming true everything on star trek and the jetsons was reality, most homes had a personal computer with the internet, before oj simpson, before clinton scandal. before 911. Yet, we listened to Nirvana, was told 2000 would be doomsday, and liked grunge clothing.

It seemed to get some descent press upon release i figured it would at least get a yr2, but if it depressed people it might of got high ratings for 1st couple episodes and be a show people didnt complete.

the good and bad of creative freedom, if knowbody is around to say we need to lighten it up, or make one character to root for then people wont watch

before the reboot of bsg, most didnt really think much of it.  It was a show that was a blaintent ripp off of star wars and lasted 1 season had a reboot that lasted a half season.  The only people that had any nastalgia for it where adults that were young kids that watched it in the early 80s.  it had a slight revivalin the late 90s after the scifi channle launched only because they had to use the universal catalog of shows and it buck rogers and lost in space were the only space themed shows they could get their hands on.

So popularity about the same, non fans remember it as jerry O'Connell's show where he time traveled with a remote control and wormholes, foxs ripp off of quantum leap.

rebooting old shows is more popular than it was during the bsg reboot.

If you could have jerry play Michael Mallory, its limited involvement.  If his brother wants to come back and play an uncle no biggie, if rest of cast wants to cameo at some point cool if not, no biggie.  Then just recast a 4 man crew using same charactoristics as original team.

nothing is new, spoilers have existed on the internet for years.   I'm guessing you weren't around for the drama of the experts sliders website during season 4 and 5.  Their was alot going on and the show was being produced a year ahead for scifi summer.  S o he had all the inside scoop, for year 5 they fed him misinformation that sounded like classic season 3 was returning.  some of it was better than we got on screen some not that far off etc.

But with all the scifi and movies their was tons of info ...i guess the only difference was youtube wasnt big

The scandal is that Sinclair broadcasting is dictating to local news channels that they own to report the same national stories using the same conservative slanted script, this has been a practice for the last year or so, saying that I can watch an almost identical local news telecast in dayton ohio and orlando florida.

slightly scary, if the local sinclair network doesnt complie they fire the crew and start over.

true, that and tge way they snapped on top of each other made one disk get scratched up.  was never willing to repurchase to fix it.
then we got complete series in order.

i will be surprised if it ever gets another re-release as it sold ok but not great over the years, but i must be wrong as it keeps getting re-release

yep tue after Gilmore girls as he was formerly from gg, then ironically after smallville the following year as the other brother was from year 1 of smallville, then followed smallville from thur to fri, then back to thur, to wed, to thur again always at 9pm till midpoint last season

yes, buy it....no other episode guide, few other sliders items out their, the book was badly rated because it was released during year  of the show about 2 years late and only reiews year 1, 2, and most of year 3.  yes it is done badly with spelling and grammer error even i was able to notice

Sorry after Stargate SGU I stopped watching, my dad though who always hated all things space shows likes the bad weekend movies.

I agree with another commenter that until it becomes a network that isn't ashamed to show science fiction it will never work

so the big nad is a future flash, this is a huge wow, but with a vivid memory another wow.

so why didn't he take out the team one by one in their sleep, or just go to star labs release all the big bads to keep team flash busy then go kill the scientist lady.

i give the show credit it still is a fun watch.  best new show on tv week to week but wow.

If that is the case it will be better than The Shield or King of queens both complete series Mill Creek Releases those where a box that opened into to spindles of 20 dvds with a piece of cardboard holding them in place nothing between the disk, great deals both where in the 30 dollar range for the complete series, but you basically have to repackage them.

Not that Sliders has ever had a good package, outside of season 5, Season 1 and 2 floating dvd's, then my season 3 dvds double sided got scratched up

The Carmichael Show - NBC.com
www.nbc.com/the-carmichael-show

This sitcom takes on political satire in the way that All In The Family use to with a debate of some sort every episode and the main character Carmichael typically taking the point of view of the non-politically correct side of the argument.

Very funny show...giving you topics that most of Hollywood is afraid to bring up...gentrification, Cosby, Donald Trump, all became issues last season.

Tru Season 4's budget did have a lot to do with the standing set that were built for season 3, The Chandler in particular.  Also, being shot in LA at Universal Studios, hurt them for alternate worlds, which by season 5 they at least found a way to use the Hill Valley set more and other parts of the backlot so at least the show had more variety in location, something very important for a show like Sliders.

Mostly season 4 and then season 5 were just amazing in that production wise losing 1/4 of their budget moving from Fox to Sci-Fi the show looks similar(outside the wormhole), the special effects are bad, but even in the Fox years outside of the Dino episodes, most shows in Season 3 had bad for the 90's special effects, it didn't help that their was so much good sci-fi at the time, and on a TV budget most shows had movie level special effects.

Season 4 is one of those things where they got a good 13 episode season, an OK 18 episode season, but the 6 of the last 9 episode of season 4 are awful, the only saving grace is the cast, they move at a slow pace and are hard to watch.

Season 5 when you can get over the cast change only has about 3 awful episodes, 5 Ok episodes and the other 13 are better than most the episodes of season 4.

I mean Sliders is a tough show to recommend to anyone a girl at my work that likes Dr.Who and Quantum Leap was asking for a good netflix show.

I told her Sliders, but I felt compelled, because she is a completist and Sliders takes several dark turns especially if you fall in love with the show in season 1, and why wouldn't you, you are forced to give the disclaimer that it take a weird turn in season 3, then again mid season  3, then again in season 4, then again in season 5.  How do you tell someone if they fall in love with any character outside of Rembrandt Brown they wont make it through the end.  If they like Rembrandt Brown's character, he will represent little of that character in season 5

It honestly is not in the top 10 of worst episodes for me, yeah it's dumb but moves at a descent pace with better than average special effects.

I get that it is part of season 3's let's rip off a movie every week, but at least this episode pulled it off, where as several other episodes failed in both effects and logic.  Plus it did movie the plot of season 3 along.

IF the problem is feeling bad for Kari being asked to do this as her 3rd or so filmed episode of the show I get that and agree...but tarnishing the great name that was Sliders, that had already happened and if you cab accept the rest of season 3 then this in my mind was on the better half of the scale.

AR this point in tvl and wasn't 7 of 9 wearing less weekly on voyager?

To get an idea of what a bluray release from Mill Creek may look like, here is Airwolf a show with a similar life of being a mid season show with 3 seasons on broadcast(CBS), being retooled midway through, then spending its final season on cable(USA)with a mostly new cast...
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Airwolf-T … 67/#Review

My guess is the new release coming out may look better single layer disk, etc. The problem If you got the hub episodes is the bottom of the screen hub would take up to advertise what was coming up or contest, so you would end up with an network logo on all episodes.

I would guess if the new release dvd sells good the only thing left to do is a bluray conversion.

I would guess the last couple rereleases had some sales for their to be a complete season rerelease with episodes in correct order...tthis is the 1st time anyone has 5aken the time to do this on dvd...with it being a new conversion it may have less episodes or a better conversion.

The show was shot on film but the badly done special effects would have to be redone..would be nice to get a star trek classic series or sting bluray redo but I can't see anyone spending the money....maybe could talk amazon into it as an exclusive on demand project.  I t would be cheaper than a 13 episode show and their is a built in audience

Looks better than season 2 dvd's, but these are the ones from 2004 in the floating DVD case, they had like 6 episodes compressed on one DVD something new at the time where as previous to this release usually there would be 3 hrs on a single dvd vs the 5hr + on these dvd's.

Saying that the HUB Broadcast looks better, as said before their are black bars on the left and right of the screen being that The HUB was an HD only TV network.

The DVD has more grain...The HUB images look slightly better.

Is it a drastic difference "No", I am playing the DVD on a bluray player with a DVD up-convert so I am getting the best version of what the DVD could offer.

The HUB was the only network to try Sliders Reruns and they aired them in order with the best quality possible...I wish it would of worked but we had an extra year of so of new eyes getting to see Sliders again.

I checked it out on Netflix, Netflix looks better than DVD, HUB still looks better.

I have "The Good, the Bad and the Wealthy" & California Reich on my tivo premier.
but i dont realy have a good way to transfer them to anything else
