This is great Tom!

Yeah we feel honored to be able to get in early. Hopefully the powers that be like our stuff enough to keep us on the screener list.

Oh no the name stays! It’s just fun to call ourselves the Watch podcast unofficially haha!

For the first time on the TV side of things, we are watching a brand new season of a show as it airs!

Quantum Leap returns for its second season today, and we should have a new episode up in the next day. We’ve gotten some official access to future episodes and plan to try and release our podcast the next day after each QL episode airs!

Unfortunately that means we’re taking a slight break before continuing on with our Heroes rewatch but rest assured, we will return to it! After all, there’s only 8 episode for QL set right now.

I may try that! I imagine I’ll have to do some editing to make the sentences extra long so that I run out of breath but he end of them like I normally do! Thanks!

I just mentioned your theories in Episode Zero of the new podcast!

Here's a question for you, since your Google Fu is greater than mine...

Do you, or anyone else, know of any place to find transcripts/scripts for all the seasons of Heroes? I found full character name scripts for season 1 and 2 and just two episodes of Season 3, but that's all.

I remember there was something that ent into place a while back where alls scripts were taken down for some reason. Now all I find are transcripts where it's ONLY the dialogue and no character names mentioned. Using the transcripts for the first two episodes, I just finished my synopsis for two episodes in less time than it took me to do ONE synopsis for Dawson's and the new Quantum Leap season! I need to find more of these scripts! It is SOOOO helpful!

You’re the man, man! Thanks for those! Yeah we’re finding most of the webisodes we find are very low quality.

Still surprised they didn’t put all of these on the box sets. Such a weird decision. It’s like they chose every other webisode and skipped the others.

Hey all,

We are getting setup to start our rewatch of Heroes, including the comics that were released alongside the show, AND the webisodes... IF we can find them.

It seems only three of the webisodes of the original show were put out on the box sets (season 3) and one is complete on youtube. The other three are nowhere to be found on officially released media, and on youtube and other video sites, we can find parts of the other three webisodes, but not all of the parts.

We are looking for Destiny, Slow Burn and then Damen Peak. SB has 10 parts, Destiny has 4, while Damen has 3.

If you have any clue where to find these, let us know!

Thanks,
Tom

Oh man, yeah, ireactions and TF those are both great theories! And that article does clear it up. I had not seen that one.

In our latest discussion we did talk about what Magic said about the gentle nudge and that fits in with the quantum limbo reactions mentioned. And yes the safety protocols we discussed in our last discussion too and like you TF we theorized that means he is in much greater danger than Sam was. It also fits with the old series having safeties and yeah, for sure, when those times happened where Sam began to merge and forget himself could be the result of the safeties getting a bit loose at times.

Nice theories and thanks for the help all! This will definitely make it into our next episode! We haven't put them out just yet because I needed a week off for the GallifreyOne convention and Cory needs a week off for something he has going on. So we were delaying them just a few weeks but they should start showing up soon.

Oh, and Ib, I will say that if you haven't seen it yet, it's the old formula from the original but mixed in with a story arc for the future timeline as well, which... means something has to give. We get a little less time with the people Ben leaps into, which makes me feel a little less connected, but the mystery of the present timeline is keeping me intrigued.

Yeah so, in our latest discussion (not out yet) we wondered... where is the waiting room in the new QL?

In the old series, Al and company talked to the people in the waiting room to get info, but in this new series, that doesn't seem to be a thing.

Furthermore, where is Ben's body in this new series?

Ideas? Theories?

Yes that’s right, we are leaping back into Quantum Leap! The new revival that is! We waited for a bit to see if we were into the new show and it turns out we are! While we’ve been watching live each week, we are going back and watching the season again so technically we’re still doing a rewatch. Hope you all can join us!

Yeah I am excited to go back to this. I watched pretty regularly but eventually drifted off at some point before it ended. And it’s literally been 2 and a half decades since I saw it so I don’t exactly have the greatest of recall of how it all went.

I do think this show could do quite well today if they rebooted it. I love the idea of integrating real history with ufo history.

Hey all,

Your ol pal is back here on the boards to let you all know, we’ve finished with the teenage angst of Dawson’s Creek and are heading back into the Sci Fi realm with a rewatch of Dark Skies, to be followed by Heroes!

Right now, you can find the whole season of Dark Skies up on YouTube and DailyMotion so if you don’t have them, go get thee to a YouTube downloader before they’re taken down by the man!

We’d love to have you listening along!

I have recently (within the last half year), started susncribign to DCUniverse and Marvel Unlimited and have rediscovered the old X-Men djacent comic, Excalibur. If you've ever read it, you might want to seek it out as it is very Sliders-esque at least so far.

Somewhere after the first half a dozen issues or so, the team gets hijacked by a mechanical widget and begins a trip hopping through a multiverse of worlds. It's not always earth, but they play a lot with it so far, showing different versions of heroes and villains and such. It's been kind of fun. Not sure when the multiverse travels will stop but for now, I'm enjoying it,

They don't necessarily get into the "solving a world's problem" thing that Quinn and company did, but if you enjoy seeing different takes on different worlds, it's a fun little diversion. I don't know why I never thought about this comic back when we were doing the Podcast. Just was buried deep in my memory I suppose!

I don't want to watch SEAQUEST. One cancelled-on-a-show cliffhanger that haunts me is quite enough for one lifetime, thank you. But I'm really looking forward to hearing Tom and Cory talk about yet another TV show that I have never seen and seeing it through their eyes. I feel like I've watched THE FLASH (90s edition), QUANTUM LEAP and VOYAGERS! when I haven't, and I feel like I could successfully bluff my way through any conversation about these shows.

Haha, that's awesome! Glad we are being detailed enough!

I just finished the premiere episode and it's not bad, but something about it hasn't grabbed me just yet.

Yeah that makes sense! I’ve never seen the show really so I’m not sure what I’m in for!

Like the title says! We're moving onto our next show, Seaquest DSV! I've only ever seen a handful of episodes while Cory has seen the whole thing so Im not sure what to expect.

I AM trying to find some fansites for the show but there is NOTHING out there so far that is akin to EarthPrime or the sites we found for Lois And Clark, Quantum Leap, and Voyagers unfortunately.

Anyone here a fan of the show and know of some resources? Thanks in advance if you do!

And YES, the "!" is part of the actual show title!

Hey all, just letting you know, Cory and I are finished with our Quantum Leap rematch and are heading into a one season show (like Flash 90) called "Voyagers!" before hitting our next multi season show, Seaquest.

I believe I saw some episodes of "Voyagers!" on Dailymotion if you care to join us.

Like Quantum Leap, the two leads travel through time to help people, this time, famous people and events. Like most programming from the old days, there isn't an arc that spans the whole series or great mythology to the show; just time traveling and learning about history.

Hope you can listen in!

Oh of course not, no worries! We're glad you're listening!

Hey all,

We are BACK to our podcasting studios and getting ready to record episode 1 of our Quantum Leap Rewatch. If you care to join us, NBC appears to have all the episodes right now WITH the correct music from what I've seen so far.

Join us, send us feedback and thoughts on episodes! Review the podcast in iTunes and get a chance to win a digital comic book!

-Tom

I haven't been watching Discovery simply because I have so many streaming services as is and it is difficult to keep going with them, not to mention adding new ones! Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime (not to mention Google Play for music and as free YouTube, as well as my desire to get  Brit box for Classic Who and Broadway Tonight for my love of musicals). I think I may subscribe after the season is done and then pay for it for a month and see if I can just binge it, if they are offering the whole season still by then (or maybe they'll do a Hulu, and only offer the latest episodes instead?).

I saw a YouTube video discussing Discovery and it was intriguing. To explain the advanced tech and uniforms and such, they theorized that Discovery is actually the origin story of Section 31. Gotta admit, that fan theory gave me pause and makes me interested if that is the case because of course, S31 would have access to advanced tech and such.

I'm not really into the darker aspect of the series, and is a reason why I never got much into DS9 which always felt so much darker and brooding than TNG. But Section 31 was always a neat concept to me, and the darkness of it didn't bother me, so if this is THAT story, I'll be coming aboard at some point I think.

Ireactions, I like that comment you mentioned of Seth McFarlane's and how all the Trek officers were just perfect all the time. The Orville definitely represents his view of a realistic Trekverse.

I had to jump in here because I love the Orville! Yeah that episode was definitely possible in a Sliders-verse. I could actually see Clevant in my head playing the scientist part and trying to get out of the mess he got into.

When I first saw the promos for the show, I too thought, oh it's Galaxy Quest from Seth. That's how they cut those promos. When I watched the first episode though, I was blown away.

First, I thought it was only going to be a half hour. The trailers made me think it was another McFarlane romp into goofiness and toilet humor.

Second, it felt like in sooooo many ways, as you said, The Next Generation. Although the ship designs and uniforms were different, the world itself feels like TNG, which is on purpose of course seeing as Seth is a huge Trek fan himself.

Third, the humor, while referencing OUR society so much, felt natural to me. It makes me think back to TNG and how in so many situations, every crew member acted like a perfect example of humanity in the future. They all did their duty, never complained about their shifts or officers, always had a complete understanding of the technical puzzles or problems that cropped up, etc. the Orville gang feel like people I could know right now.

For example, I thought about it. If I was on a ship, responsible for flying through space, for an 8 hour shift, I would defiantly want a soda. Maybe a bag of jerky too. And why NOT do some bingeing of a favorite sitcom or show as well? The little things they throw in like that make me feel like it's TNG with a group of people plucked from our present. I love that!

Fourth, they aren't afraid to do real sci fi type topics, just like TNG would. They do shows that metaphorically comment on current issues in our world. It makes for an enjoyable hour of TV. Much more than if it had been all dick and fart jokes and fourth wall breaking jokes.

From what I understand the ratings for it have been good for fox, especially once they count the delayed viewings in. It has been consistently at the top of their lists, hovering around the second position, so I'm hopeful it will be renewed. It really deserves it.

Oh I'll have to look into that! Could be a nice little thing to mention in the show !

So check it out guys! Episode one AND two of our Flash 90 Rewatch!

We'd love to hear from ya all and let's face it, you need something to hold you over until the Flash is back in October so join us, won't you, and Rewatch John Wesley Shipp in his original iconic role! Use the phone number at Golden Spiral Media or post here and  let's hear your thoughts on the episodes too.

I'm actually very impressed so far with the stories and all. I was worried but I'm loving it!

I had a experience just recently and it's left me to reflect on our forums here.

In readying myself for the Flash '90 podcast, I did as I did for the Sliders podcast. Searched for information. I did the same with Lois and Clark. Now for Sliders, I was already HERE and commenting quite a bit about my crush on Wade Wells/Sabrina Llyod as ireactions posted enticing picture after picture to drive me mad. With Lois and Clark I found the Zoomway forums and despite their being stuck in a certain mindset that caused some disagreement about things, they were generally just as welcoming as you all here.

That brings me to my search for Flash '90 info. I ended up finding a forum that had some people who had posted topics related to that show. They're were a few general comments and a few dedicated threads to the individual episodes. I thought, well this looks great! I shall join and let these guys know of new content coming concerning a show they seemed to be interested in. I posted! It didn't appear. I waited. Tried again in a few weeks. Nothing. I posted on their help forums. Nothing. Another month or so and I tried again to post. Nothing.

Finally today the moderator responded. I ad apparently broken a rule that like a computer software's EULA, I had not read. I was a newbie to their forum and I had dared to promote my own project. Thus my post was banned automatically.

Now truthfully I understand the rules they had set up. I hasn't read them because I assumed the experience there would be like the experience here and at Zoomway. I assumed that people would be happy with new content for old favorite shows! So I was smacked down. Ouch.

I reached out on Twitter to the owner of the site, someone that I heard guest star on that other Lois and Clark podcast that seemed to have stalled out at the end of season one. He was also on a documentary about Smallville as well apparently. Quite the Superman fan for sure. You can see my Twitter feed if you feel like reading the convo (@tom2pt0). Basically we had some back and forth and I did apologize for breaking the rules and not coming to him personally first. But... I didn't know him. I never thought about contacting the owner of a forum before posting before. It just kind of soured me on that forum. He did say he would fix things and I assume let my posts finally go through. That's great and all but still... what a way to be greeted.

The rules state that I needed to be a standing member of the community first before posting about my own projects. So just go and discuss things here and there first and then after some time I would be allowed to post. I suppose I understand that but I just feel like it's anti-newbie. I know it's supposed to cut down on hacker spam and people posting illegal download things and such but still. It was quite an off-putting thing to be told yeah you just spammed us with news of your podcast. Really took me by surprise.

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say thanks for this forum as I've always felt accepted right away. Thanks!

I had never heard of that other pilot either! I'm kind of glad they never made it. It really sounded less like Flash and more look like some Quantum leap redux.

Hey, all! Thought we were done with this thread Huh? Thought we were done podcasting about Sliders eh? Well, ireactions wouldn't let that happen, oh no!

Cory and I are super grateful for all the support you guys showed us during our time on Sliders and we're happy to present a special finale where Sliders Rewatch is REBORN to cover all six parts of ireactions' crazy magnum opus, Sliders Reborn! Sorry it took so long, but ireactions' scripts kept getting longer and longer like the Harry Potter books and it took us eight months to figure out what to say about this crazy thing and record something suitable. We actually got stuck when trying to say something coherent about the script where Quinn meets Mallory and had to stop and finish recording later. But we got it together and we hope you enjoy!

If it's this hard for you to track down old episodes of "The Flash," how will people follow along while they listen to the podcast?

Oh it's not hard to track down the episodes at all. I had the dvd set for a long time now. Easy! Haha!

I know there are some episodes out there on Daily Motion. It might take some searching to find them all. Just a quick search I did right now resulted in about 7 or 8 episodes so it's possible the rest are in there too. You never know how long they'll stay up though so sights like keepvid would be useful for downloading offline.

I know we have a local used bookstore that carries used DVDs and video games and other items as well. I know the Flash series was there for really cheap too at one time. Maybe see if you have a similar store nearby maybe? Or libraries are sometimes surprisingly. My local library is how I've been finding out Doctor Who episodes. They seem to have a pretty big collection of all the old series.

Finally Amazon has the season for digital download for just $15. A decent price considering its 22 episodes total!  It doesn't appear to be streaming anywhere for free just yet though.

Ah yeah true! Actually I've never seen Twin Peaks. When it aired I had a girlfriend who was huge into it, so much so that it turned me off. So many conversations about it back then and I had no clue what was what. It'd be a first watch for me if we ever do it!

RussianCabbie_Lotteryfan wrote:

Very cool! Will that be part of the Rewatch Pod feed or somewhere separate?

Unfortunately not. Cory actually does a Doctor Who podcast already with some others called the Pod Doctors and while they cover the new episodes as they air, he wanted the Rewatch Podxast to focus on shows that arent ongoing.

For example: he had thought that we might do a Twin Peaks Rewatch but then when they announced the sequels episodes, doing a Rewatch of it would mean we would cover the new episode as well, changing it from a Rewatch.

I'd love to do a Who podcast myself but again the problem would be TIME! If I only had a Tardis...

pilight wrote:

It sucks that there are so many missing episodes from the first two Doctors

It's so odd to think that at one time people thought yeah, just record over that episode, who's gonna watch this stuff again! I've just been watching the one episode I'm not a fan of. It was the last story of season one, the French revolution one. A lot of missing episodes but they used stills and the original audio. I don't think it was the stills that bugged me. The story was just way slower than the others that season imo.

Thanks RC_L! Yeah the podcast and real life keep me busy! Plus, I have suddenly become a huge Doctor Who fan. BingeWatched the whole reboot from 2005 onto the present day in the last six months, enough to get caught up and buy the season pass for the current season AND see the premier episode in theatres. Now I'm into the Classic Who as well, starting my own Rewatch with the original 1963 Season 1!

Haha yes I suppose not! I have some fond memories of he show but haven't really watched it since maybe the late 90's. I'm wondering how it will hold up!

Hey guys, 'member me?

The Rewatch Podcast has been on an extended hiatus unfortunately. Cory was moving, I was heading out on vacation, and we've been waiting for the head honcho at the Golden Spiral Media Network to get us hooked up over there...

But we're just about ready to start again and we are hitting up the John Wesley Shipp-helmed Flash! If you guys have the episodes or can find them online somewhere, We'd love to have your comments and feedback just like back in the Ol days. I know Daily Motion can be a good source sometimes.

Thanks!
Tom and Corey

Bought the jacket online. Real leather and it's actually my usual winter jacket now. The gun was a bright orange Nerf gun that I repainted. The spats and shoe covers are craft foam with paper fasteners added to look like rivets and attached via Velcro. I now use rare earth magnets to attach them to the pants so they stay UP. The Velcro was fine, but they would continually slide down and rub against the ground.

The rockets on the spats are more PVC pipes painted and duct taped together, with cardboard joining them together in the middle. Attached with Velcro to the spats.

The mask I created on top of an iron man talking mask. I removed the blue lenses and cut off the sides and top and back, using craft foam to make new sides and a back. The big pipes near the cheek bones are small bits and pieces of threaded PVC pipes, spray painted. The small bent pipes are actually bendy straws. The group of three pipes together are cut up glue sticks. The ear pieces are backs of push lights I got from the .99 store. The eye rings are sawed off PVC pipes and the red lenses inside are cut from a clear Rubbermaid lid. The piece below the mouth grille is actually Mr Potato Head Optimus Prime's mouth turned upside down and trimmed a little.

I never posted here about my cosplay attempts the past two years, but I figure there's no time like the present. At the link below you will find even more of my pics from this past weekend's Phoenix Comicon. Including the gf as Wonder a woman and the best Supergirl I saw that weekend!

I'm pretty pleased with the costume! It was a blue spandex suit, one of those ones that cover you head to toe. I had to cut off the hood and then cut the nick down to the seam right around the collar bone, maybe a little higher. Then cut off the hands too. I bought a superman insignia on Amazon, smaller than the dean Cain version unfortunately, and attached it to the blue spandex with rare earth magnets. Held great!

I bought the red trunks on etsy, custom made, and they turned out really nice! However, I learned that you still need some... padding. I used a removable pad from my girlfriend's bra and voila. No embarrassing or uncomfortable moments at comicon!

The boots were bough online as well somewhere. Slightly big for me but they work. Had to wear two pairs of socks but they still slid a little and I ended up with a small blister. Maybe next time, three pairs to tighten the fit.

The cape was actually a devil type cape with a big arched high collar filled with foam. Cut the seam and removed the foam and then cut off the hood and just hand sewed where I cut to make sure it wasn't gonna fall apart. Again, rare earth magnets let me attach that tot he blue spandex seamlessly!

My gf went as wonder woman and we got so many compliments. There were a few other supermen, but only two others were close to mine in quality: a Brandon Routh superman style costume, and an awesome looking Red Son costume! But together, me and the gf, were quite the pair and garnered many requests for pictures. She's already 5'10", but add three inch heels and you get a tall Amazon woman right before your eyes!

Go and check them out and share your feed back here if you'd like!

For those of you who don't have the Lois and Clark DVDs, but still want to participate with us in the Rewatch, a Google search has turned up this: http://watchseries.cr/series/lois-clark … n/season/1
It's a bit buggy to use on my phone but doable. I've searched around and found some other you tube videos as well for episodes. Some however have static advertisements on the borders, with the main Lois and Clark episode scrunched up in the center. It's not great but again, it can work for those of you who want to follow along. First, try the site above though.

And then join us in the other thread that we have dedicated to L&C! See you there!

Nicely done, the both of you. I've greatly enjoyed your deconstruction of seasons four and five!

Thanks! It was quite a ride! Sad it's over but excited to be moving on to Lois and Clark! I have fond memories of the show through the entire run. Even the later seasons.

A big thanks to you guys for this podcast.  I wish it could somehow be on the blu-ray (if there is one) as audio commentary or bonus material.

We would totally love that! Someone get on the horn to Torme!

Hey, who's the voice of Wade?

**

An error that we didn't credit the voice of the lovely leading lady of MY life, Jane. We needed someone to do Wade's part, as it didn't seem right to include scenes without her too. We toyed with the idea of using Garageband's voice transformer to pitch my voice up huger and make it into a female, but Cory asked if Jane would be game and she was hesitant because she's not actor but wanted to help.

And so, after a late night gathering with some friends, I coached her through her lines at about 1 in the morning, then edited them together over the next few HOURS as GarageBand was being buggy for some odd reason, and then sent it to Cory who combined it with the episode proper and released it! The time crunch is why we failed to properly recognize her but don't worry... I'll make it up to her in my own special way. wink

To answer one question from the podcast -- seen in "Post Traumatic Slide Syndrome" in the office of Rembrandt's therapist:

Oh man oh man. It's almost here. Our last episode of the Rewatch Podcast featuring Sliders! I can assure you, especially you iReactions, you can rest easy. It's going to be a great last episode for us, despite the obvious sadness of the ending of the series proper. We had a great discussion and in the end, you are getting a super sized podcast when it releases tomorrow sometime.

Two hours, Twenty-nine minutes, and 30 seconds.

It's almost like we didn't want to say goodbye! But I promise you we aren't just rambling, rather we had so much to say, especially about our special bonus material. I can't wait for you all to hear it!

Check 33:59 on Heavy Metal. Captions say Farm Boy on Netflix but I bet it's a mistake and he does say fog boy. The enunciation is probably what screwed up the caption writer maybe? I dunno how those things work. And relistening to the clip from To Catch A Slider I can defiantly hear it clearer now and yep it does say Fog, but the captions again say Fatm! 11:59 in that episode on Netflix. Wtf caption writers?
