he’s still probably best known for playing Rembrandt Brown on the cult TV classic, “Sliders.”
“I had the best time doing it. There was not one day I didn’t enjoy working on that show,” Derricks said. “I know it started to fall on its wayside—new producers came in and new writers came in—but I loved doing it and it’s why I stayed till the very end. I loved the idea of multiple worlds and parallel Earths.”
Even though the show ended 16 years ago, it’s a part that people recognize him for just about every day thanks to constant reruns and a European fan base that is second to none.

Crying Man rules. I saw him a couple of years ago on stage in my city. A play called "Pullman Porter Blues"
He looked just like he did in Sliders.

Always glad to see how Cleavant has fond memories of his 5 years on Sliders. He is the rare cast member who looks back fondly on that time. I would so like to meet him at a comicon someday and chat him up. I'm sure he has some great stories about the O'Connell brothers.
