This evening I went down the rabbit hole that is YouTube trying to see if there were any hidden fan films or projects done that I hadn't come across yet. Hit a brick wall, and was about to give up before I found this little number:

In the middle of the night, Wade gets a phone call from her friend Quinn asking her to come over. The next day Wade goes over to investigate, just to find out Quinn is up to another one of his experiments. But things quickly change when Quinn opens a vortex to another world and pushes Wade through the aperture.

In all seriousness, I applaud the effort and time that was placed into piecing Nonchalant Sliders together on a limited budget. I loved the use of the props, the actor who played Arturo stood out for me in the way he attempted to portray the mannerisms and articulation of the characters, doubles were filmed and handled exceptionally well, and the sliding effect was so cute I wanted to hug it! Loved it.

My main criticism stems from the fact that I have just watched the entire thing back-to-back and it's apparent that the overall running time could have been reduced - by a heck of a lot. If you remove the entire dream sequence, Quinn tinkering in the basement (which took up almost 3 - 4 parts), and trimmed some of the dialogue, then immediately both the flow and feel of the project drastically improves.

And it's hard not to nitpick this part, but I personally would have chosen a different story route for Rembrandt. If the actor wasn't available for anything other than his introduction, then it could have been written that he didn't end up in the vortex in this version, rather than the strange 'he's stuck somewhere' then, 'taken prisoner' angles. Though I adored the effort that the guys tried to put into that death scene, it felt a little hollow since they didn't even meet the guy, let alone know him!

But anyway, a nice job. They did good.

Ok so this is not a Fan Vid with Acting by Fans and a Script and it's not a Fan Edited Trailer for a Movie or Reboot..... It is however a Really Heart Warming Tribute from the You Tube Account of Julieluthor in honour of the Original Four Sliders.

I really enjoyed it and it brought back good feelings.

Ok... Signal Worked this Time so the JJ Abrams Style Fan Vid.....

It is Exciting I'll give it that but it doesn't touch on the Sense of Curious Wonder that made Season 1 & 2 so Special which is a Shame.

The Skyline footage felt out of place to be honest but I did think the Jumper Footage blended well with the actual Sliders Clips.

I don't think I like the idea of Hayden as Quinn though as while he can do Broody he is not the most expressive Actor.... Whatever Faults Jerry O'Connel may have had he could do animated and enthused well, especially when he had John Rhyss Davies on hand as a Mentor and Colleague.

Overall not a bad little Fan Effort but still left me feeling it needed tweaks.

Happens a lot. Not so bad with short stuff but try getting fifteen or twenty minutes into a Vid of greater length and then get that message!

Anyway.... Noticed something on the comments panel which I thought bore mentioning for the board and ireactions in particular.

It has been said that a New Sliders Series would not be viable for an audience of around twenty Sliders fans which sounds reasonable as there are not howling hordes of us here on this BBS/Site.... BUT.... Just read those comments.

Many people love Sliders whether Old Fans or New passing Viewers!

They just are not as die hard as us is all. The fact is though we should not become disheartened or draw misconceptions just based on the membership of our Site Here.

For what it is worth though I do have the Sliders Anniversary and this Site and Earth Prime up on my Sig on Spacebattles.com so that whenever I post both Sliders and this Site etc get advertising and hopefully draw both Old and New Sliders Fans here.

I think promotion whether Minor and Subtle or Big and Overt is something which can only help the Sliders Fan Community and Commercial Franchise.

I've downloaded the first Fan Film which was about 50 MB with a roughly 30 Minute runtime and I will watch it soon.

This sequel Film though is only a 14 Minute runtime but is nearly 90 MB in size which is too much for me to download so I will probably watch it on You Tube Direct after I watch the first Fan Film.

I'll post a review when I'm done.

I look forward to your thoughts and those of ourr fellow Sliders Fans too on both the Conrad Bennish Stuff and the other Vids too!

Ah! It finally got Subtitled! That's good news!
Just have to hope that now I can understand it I will enjoy it!

French fan trailer and part 1 of their fan film (with subtitles) - which seems like a reconstruction of the concept / pilot. But instead of alternate earths, the group jump into alternate movies and TV shows.

I have not seen more than the Intro yet as my Data Allowance on Phone is low so will watch when I can downlooad it as 30 minutes is better in one smooth flow rather than You Tube's juddery streaming and Connection Lost messages and cut outs.
