The Buffy news stings, as I was really looking forward to that.

Firefly I saw, it's cool. I think one issue is that it's likely to be very low budget, and probably wind up looking like that Supernatural anime, which may be aesthetically good but lacking. i.e. the best animated shows are the ones where something actually happens on screen. I felt this was evident with X-Men '97, which featured so many more still shots than the original series had. And the original was hand drawn.

Overall, I really don't know if either property is ever truly what it was without Joss. He might have been a tyrant at times, but these were HIS brainchildren.

ouch. it has to be painful to get a revival "going" to some degree, and then have it taken away.

Well they cast David Boreanaz, who might well be the only modern actor who could pull off the looks. Goes without saying, I'm been a huge fan of his, so we shall see.

I only watched a few Rockford Files, so I'm no expert, but if they go the route they did with Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum, P.I., they won't attempt a James Garner impersonation. The characters will borrow traits from the original, but the actors involved will have their own interpretations. Other than wearing Hawaiian shirts and a Detroit Tigers cap (and driving a Ferrari), Jay Hernandez's Thomas Magnum did not pretend to be Tom Selleck's. That doesn't mean it will be good, but I can see why they'd want to revive the format, and borrowing an established IP (though, how many in the target demographic remember the original?) is lazy but draws attention.

As a Rockford MEGA fan, this makes no sense to do, but that won't stop them. You're talking about a vehicle that was entirely created back then around the personality of James Garner, not to mention his eccentric co-stars. In one sense, I do miss the old Stephen J. Cannell styled shows, but I don't see how anyone could emulate Garner. IF they go through with it, I suppose the only thing I would find interesting would be placing the show BACK in mid-1970's LA, which I always had a grand fondness for, on screen.

Quite alright. I keep well abreast of the Convention news around here. JRD is appearing in Pittsburgh this weekend, for instance. God Bless John, he's usually at several cons a month. Jerry will be in Red Bank, NJ, for the Stand by Me tour he does with Corey and Wheaton.

I vaguely remember seeing it. Seemed ok, but I remember it getting bizarre near the end. Too afraid of watching the series because I'd feel like a traitor. It's obviously not the same as Sliders but a rookie would think so. Especially since we had the Maggs. Maybe I can overcome my fear one day.

I saw the STARGATE movie and thought it was a good time. I saw the first few episodes of STARGATE SG-1 and thought Richard Dean Anderson was a delight. And then... I dunno, I got distracted. I should get back into it.
