(sorry to anyone who donated to that recount... it's a waste of money).
Speaking of that, I found this article amusing (especially if true):

The comments however are awful.
One thing I forgot to mention - H.R.'s idea may have been a nice bit of foreshadowing. A Star Labs museum wouldn't really make much sense as a cover for team Flash, but what about a Flash museum?
http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Flash_Museum
The Flash museum has been a staple of Flash lore for decades, and it's always housed trophies, working villain weapons and even the actual cosmic treadmill for when Flash needs to use it. The Flash museum in the comics is very much like Star Labs is on the show; Cisco and co just haven't dressed it up for the public yet.
From the most recent episode of Flash, I'm surprised H.R.'s disguise device didn't alarm the team more than it did. After all, it turned out badly the last time they saw a Harrison Wells with a false face. Even with H.R., how do we know which face is really the disguise?
I also can't help but notice that every device H.R. has is shaped like a wand. He even carries a drum stick around with him (which one could argue is wand-like). The Flash villain Abra Kadabra still hasn't made an appearance yet...
The reaction to this election continues to astound me. Legendary comics artist George Perez is now stating he will no longer attend comic conventions in states that Trump won. Nice of him to consider all of the people in those states who actually think like him and did not vote Trump.
Of course, in the end Perez is hurting himself the most. For an artist of his caliber, it's not unusual to make ten grand over a three day convention weekend.
In the election fall out, I read something I hadn't seen before - a secession movement called Cascadia:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cascadi … _movement)
It would include a large swath of land including Oregon, Washington, Vancouver and even up into Alaska. Wouldn't be a far stretch to extend it down to San Francisco for a Sliders world. The most interesting aspect for that use would be the related idea of Ecotopia:
Ernest Callenbach's environmental Utopian novel Ecotopia (1975) follows an American reporter, William Weston, on his tour through a secretive republic (the former Washington, Oregon, and northern California) 20 years after their secession from the U.S. At first wary and uncomfortable, Weston is shown a society that has been centrally planned, scaled down, and readapted to fit within the constraints of environmental sustainability.
MORE power Mister Mallory!!!
I just returned from my performing my duty. For my House Rep I did indeed vote for Harambe.
On a related note:

Well, it can't be the George Romero universe. The zombies would be starved; very few brains left to eat out there.
We're so close now! Predictions anyone?
Trump will win the vote, but Hillary will win the election. We'll all lose to Russia who will finally get tired of being blamed for stuff they didn't do.
This by far the best predictor of who will win Tuesday:
And I'd have put money on Malfoy turning out to be Alchemy or Savitar on Flash before the latest episode. I suppose that could still be the case, and we're being given a bit of misdirection.
My impression out of the latest episode is that they're setting up Malfoy to be the man who steps into the vacant Wells role on the team (because the current version of Wells just isn't filling that spot).
I'm seriously considering using my vote to express how much of a joke this election is....and voting for a dead gorilla.
If she's not, expect the swing the other way to be massive.
It won't happen. People will continue to vote for the same garbage over and over expecting that their lives will somehow change for the better the next time. It's insanity.
I guess what they're going for on Flash is a true butterfly effect. If the flap of a butterfly's wings can create a tornado, then a few extra seconds of breath from Nora could do the same.
The thing I've wondered about - if the original Eobard that killed Nora disappeared while laying unconscious on the floor; and the Eobard who did kill her was able to run Barry back to present day; then was there never an Eobard trapped in the past? After dropping Barry off in the present, Eobard even said that time was right again for him, and I take that to mean he was never trapped in the past.
I think that fact could be the biggest influence on changes in history. There would no longer be a reason for Eobard to kill Earth 1 Harrison Wells - Eobard wouldn't even be there to do it. The events of season one would have played out very differently; but I guess not enough to be screamingly obvious on first glance. Supporting this - season one Barry also disappeared from Nora's death scene meaning that Barry never traveled back in time at the end of season one. Eobard wasn't there to get him to do it.
Of course none of that even mentions that Eddie Thawne would still be alive and Eobard never erased from existence in a paradox. Ronnie Raymomd likely still alive. We'll see.
Well, the problem I see is that people are still treating this like it's a conventional election; it's not. Trump has already done dozens of things every one of which would have destroyed a candidate under the political rules we've known, but Trump survived each of them and stayed competitive.
One telling thing is something I saw on CNN earlier; Erin Burnette mentioned that they spent yesterday and today finding people from past focus groups to see if their opinions had changed since the video. The opinions hadn't changed except for one guy who said he was kind of iffy but still on the Trump side.
There are 29 days left in the election. Anything can happen; and as bad as it is, the history of this cycle shows that Trump can weather anything so far. I believe he'll weather this too; and frankly, his newly revealed lude behavior may even gain him votes with male voters. The talking heads seem to believe in this American ideal where all people simply must believe in a certain moral value. They don't. They may not admit it in public, but when they're behind the curtain voting, no one is going to know. That's why polls are pretty useless in this cycle - just look at Brexit, Columbia and even the U.S. primaries.
The only thing this has solidified for me is that I will never vote Republican again. These self-righteous fools have finally cut it for me and shown who they are - a right wing of the Democratic Party. You may as well cut out the middle man and just vote Democrat.
As a whole, I'm not sure about him. Hot Aunt May is weird. Squeeky-voiced Beiber-Man... I know some people liked him, but I think he is the weakest big screen Spider-Man I've seen.
They look to be doing a full-on Ultimate Spider-man which means we're likely to get a Green Goblin who's just a Hulk that breathes fire. I just hope they don't follow the cartoon with Nick Fury mentoring a Spider-man who likes to make chimpanzee noises.
I've asked promoters before, they haven't been interested. JRD does cons because of Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings. O'Connell could do okay I guess.
Much to Jerry's chagrin, a con would likely be more interested in his wife; but that could lead to him appearing as a package deal.
Unfortunately, Rickman sucked out his brain juice prior to the election.
Only the part that knew about Aleppo.
It could still happen, but I was hoping the speculation would be true about Affleck's film being set as an "Escape from Arkham Asylum" type movie.
They clearly want to make a very diverse movie, and they should have just done Miles Morales. It's the character and background they seem to want to portray, but I'm certain studios want the Peter Parker name recognition. I don't think it's necessary to have the name, but studios latch on to stupid things because they think their consumers are stupid.
Well, from a comics perspective, the original Flashpoint was used to merge the Wildstorm characters into the DC Universe (those characters having never existed in the DCU). There was no connection to Barry's mother at all; it was instead a third party named Pandora taking advantage of the temporal chaos Barry caused and using it create a world she wanted.
There's a hint in the comics that the ultimate puppet master of the Flashpoint changes will be the Legion of Super Heroes villain Time Trapper; and the Trapper has often concentrated on Superman because he was the direct inspiration for the Legion. If the Trapper is manipulating things in the Arrowverse, then maybe he believes the merger will somehow cause Superman problems.
I know they wanted the advertising hook of it being a prequel, but they should have really just done Gotham Central. They're using Batman villains anyway, and Central was designed to not use Batman directly.
I will comment on that stuff after seeing the movie.
In the meantime... New Superman movie in development! Yay!
http://screenrant.com/man-steel-2-sequel-development/I am a big fan of Man of Steel, as you know, so I am looking forward to seeing what they do with this. I hope that they don't take Superman back several steps, based on what critics have said about him.
Maybe they can finally do something worthwhile with Brainiac. For Superman's #2 foe, I'm amazed he hasn't gotten more attention in live action (the Smallville appearance is pretty much it).
As for Suicide Squad, it was a step in the right direction. Will Smith did better than I thought, but at the end of the day his acting was really just Will Smith and not the character. Ben Affleck has the same problem. By comparison, Margot Robbie became Harley Quinn. She did an amazing job. And Jared Leto became something, but hell if I know what it was.
The designation doesn't mean much; there were ships from the TOS era still operating in the Next Generation era. Usually the most obvious answer is true, so I think it will end up being an adaptation of "Planet of the Titans" which was an abandoned attempt to make a Star Trek feature film in 1976. The ship design meant for that film is practically identical to the Discovery.
If Titans is the case, that would put the time frame set between TOS and the first Star Trek film.
For all of Trump's faults, how many people around him have actually ended up dead? Meanwhile, Hillary has many dead bodies in her wake (the most well known probably being her attorney Vince Foster who committed suicide with a magic gun)
I don't think either would use a nuke, but I do believe one of them is a killer.
Some photos of the new Superman from the first day of filming:
http://www.justjared.com/2016/07/29/tyl … supergirl/
Looks a lot better in those pics than that initial press release photo.
It's a crying shame that the cops have to be a little more circumspect about just shooting the uppity black folks. "No fear of repercussions" is what's led to the many, many deaths of unarmed black people at the hands of over-aggressive cops.
I just hope that you're prepared to shoot someone to save your own life or someone you love, because one day you may not have the police to come do your dirty work when you scream for help.
I'm surprised Trump wants Cruz to speak at the convention; nobody must have reminded him of Pat Buchanan's speech at Bush's convention in 1992. In that speech, Buchanan went off Bush's middle of the road message and pushed hard on social conservatism. Historians tend to partly blame that for why Bush lost to Clinton.
Today those kinds of speeches don't seem to mean as much, but it's pretty nutty to believe Cruz is ever going to do Trump any favors.
I'm not going to sign my name to a candidate because they tell me to. If Trump gets the nomination, they have a few months to convince me that it's worth swallowing a bucket of broken glass, just to keep Hillary out of office...
I feel that's what the Republican Party has been asking their constituents to do for decades (ever since Bush the elder). I haven't felt them say "vote for me"; it's just "do you really want that other guy?" Once he got beyond Hillary, that is where Obama succeeded in his first general election; the thrust was about voting for hope and change instead of the emphasis being against his opponent. I do think Obama's hope and change line was bunk, but it was a positive message and worked.
Hillary in office won't feel much different than a 3rd term of Obama. If you're okay with the country's trajectory, then just keep riding it. I do think Trump will be different; he already has been. Is that better? I don't know. He's made a large number of mistakes (both in the election and his life), but I don't think he's the monster that the media (and his blundering) has made him out to be.
If you're worried about the world going to hell under him, then you don't realize just how bad we're already going to hell. The Democrats and Republicans aren't going to be able to use business as usual to hold it together forever; and working with law enforcement, I can tell you unequivocally that since January violent crime in my area has spiked to levels I haven't seen since Hurricane Katrina. The resurgence is not because of Trump; the largest contributing factor seems to be this Black Lives Matter business that has emboldened the criminal elements. They know law enforcement is being rendered toothless by politics; there is no fear of repercussions. It's been going that way for decades, but now it's dropped off a cliff.
Judging by the stories done on CBS, I'm guessing the elements frowned upon were fantasy science elements like time travel, magic and parallel universes (which they would have managed to talk CBS into with Flash). Throwing off those constraints could open things up to characters like Mr. Mxyzptlk, the Legion and the demon Blaze (who has connections to Shazam and could bring up an interesting appearance by Mary Marvel - the character DC ripped off to create Supergirl in the first place).
I see where they've leaked the episode title for the Supergirl premiere - "The Adventures of Supergirl". It seemed a little too generic until I remembered a story Peter David wrote in the comics.
Who was in the rocket? Maybe it was Kara - the young version of Kara we saw in all of the flashbacks last season. It would be the best way the television series could emulate the reaction to David's introduction of a character that shouldn't be possible.
Featuring the debut of the new art team of Ed Benes & Alex Lei, and an all-new direction for Supergirl! With her personal journeys ended, ...Linda Danvers can now claim to be the one and only Supergirl, right? Wrong! When a spacecraft crashes down outside Leesburg, Supergirl races over to the destroyed craft to look for survivors, and finds...Supergirl?!? Linda Danvers becomes immersed in a mystery that will shake her very identity and existence.
At least that will finally be a good version to donate to libraries so that more of the public can have a chance to see it. I'll keep an eye on how much it discounts down. When Mill Creek released the Complete Married with Children, it went from $69.99 MSRP to $29.99 on Amazon. If Sliders takes a similar cut, then it will be more reasonable to buy up that extra copy to donate.
Add Knight Rider and Miami Vice to the bluray list:

So far Mill Creek is running the table on their new licenses - all have gotten blurays. Sliders may see it happen yet.

This is a strange opinion coming from the man who wrote the (brilliant) story where Quinn becomes his own timer, a story that was clearly inspired by the loose rules of superhero comic books.
lol Well, there's fantasy science, and then there's the Nic Cage movie "Face Off".
With this Cap story, I can tell you where I think it's going to go. The heroes find a way to save Cap by undoing every wish a cosmic cube has ever granted, but there is a cost. Sam Wilson had his life changed by a cosmic cube; and if that's undone, who will he be? I think Sam will end up being the one who has to make the decision; does he sacrifice himself to save Cap? Changing Sam would leave only one Captain America in the Marvel Universe and give Steve his shield back; but Sam's noble decision will leave him as a new person who needs redemption. It won't be a sacrifice of death; it will instead be a sacrifice that leaves a chance for Sam to find the heroes path again, and Cap will be there trying to help him find it.
Of course, the above scenario opens up some unknown possibilities. If you reverse every wish, then what about the other wishes that we may not even know about. Marvel could see some reality shifting with other things changing too. Maybe not big things, but stuff just around the edges.
I really don't know why this has shocked so many people; Marvel has been doing the "villain in disguise" routine with all of its heroes. Superior Spider-man; Superior Ironman; Superior Hulk (Mr. Green) - now Cap is getting his turn.
My issue with Captain America continuity right now is that they had Red Skull steal the brain from Charles Xavier's dead body and transplant part of it into his head so that Skull can have mind control powers. Besides being outlandish, it's just sad to think that's how Xavier has ended up.
I will add my recent thought on global politics:
I want Captain America to get a new partner named Brexit.
Aquaman needs to be the most unique superhero film we've ever seen.
I expect the direction to rely on the Peter David in the mid 90's, and that would basically make it Conan under the sea. That's not necessarily a bad thing when you remember how many far out fantasy elements were in Conan, and the David run had that (most notably the alien invasion that culminated with a moon crashing toward earth that had a giant skull carved into it).
To fill the gap, on Mondays watch Brain Dead on CBS. I watched the pilot this past week, and was shocked that it's actually a sci-fi show; I had thought it would be just another Good Wife type show.
Supergirl getting five new cast members:
http://tvline.com/2016/06/08/supergirl- … -spoilers/
Characters Snapper Carr, Lena Luthor, Maggie Sawyer, a Cadmus "Doctor" (my guess being a female take on Dabney Donovan) and one more unknown called "brash, leading man".
Several of these characters could act as replacements to season one characters - Snapper replacing Jimmy or Winn; Maggie replacing Supergirl's sister; Donovan replacing Max Lord; Lena could even be worked as a more edgy Lucy Lane; and "brash, leading man" sounds something like a Cat Grant / Jimmy Olsen replacement. And that doesn't mention that Cadmus has its own Martian Manhunter type character in Dubbliex (who could be anyone in disguise). I see in this news some preparation for a large cast exodus.
On another note, it's pretty clear what the season theme could be - instead of Fort Rozz inmates, they'll be dealing with a different DNAlien from Cadmus each week. But with the mention of National City and alien tech, it doesn't sound like they're sending Supergirl to Earth 1.
I think Tom would be good for something familiar that tricks us into believing something that's not true. For instance, he could play a more true-to-the-comics version of the Phantom Zone inmate Nam-ek:
http://www.kryptonsite.com/namek.htm
He could start as this sympathetic character with Superman powers; a doctor focused on saving lives. Then as we go on we discover he's more like a Nazi doctor who sacrifices all ethics to find cures. They could even work in the dramatic transformation into the beast explaining that it was the prolonged yellow sun exposure that triggered the change (something he didn't account for on Krypton).
To get the tax credit, I think they also have to start using a few Canadian actors in prominent roles (for instance, Tom Cavanaugh on Flash is Canadian). I would expect Superman to like hockey.
Singer is throwing hints about what he wants the next X-men movie to be, so he seems to want to be involved. His hints indicate we may see a proper Dark Phoenix saga with the alien Shi'ar introduced:
http://www.slashfilm.com/x-men-sequel-in-space/
The interesting bit about that could be the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum created the Imperial Guard as an analog to Superman and the Legion of Super-heroes (Dave having formerly been an artist for the Legion - in fact, Nightcrawler was conceived to be a Legion character, but Dave took it with him to Marvel before using it at DC).
To make it somewhat more realistic, they could have instead went with the creation of the island Genosha; but Magneto wasn't really in the right place for that. He created that new nation when mutant youth were attracted to more radical ideas and made Magneto their hero (sporting t-shirts and propaganda that said "Magneto was right"). Asteroid M was less political and more "just leave me alone", but I suppose they could combine the two ideas.
Though we'll likely never see it, my favorite thing from the Genosha period was Xorn - the mutant who had a star for a brain and could manipulate gravity. Turned out it just Magneto in an iron mask punking Xavier. On the reveal, Magneto laughed about it - "I can't believe you thought someone could have a star for a brain; you're so stupid!"
Also regarding Magneto, this was the perfect set up for the storyline where an overpowered Magneto withdraws from humanity and creates a mutant sanctuary in earth orbit called Asteroid M. I'm not sure why they didn't take things there; it could have given Magneto a plausible reason for being on the sidelines in case they can't get Fasbender for another movie.
The movie was so-so for me, but falls on the side of liking it more than hating it. But the best thing about the movie is the fake 80's tv ad used as a viral promotion:
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/05/19/ … gsters-ad/
And even better, if you call the 800 number at the end of the ad, you'll get a postcard concerning your application for the school:
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/05/29/ … nail-mail/
But for me, the foundational problem with the movie is that I never cared for Apocalypse. In the comics he always seemed to me as a means to an end in changing other characters; and the movie team deserves some credit for recognizing that and using him the same way.
There also may be something to your thought about Jean and her coordinating the team. There was some missing footage from the mall including a scene at the arcade with some kind of powers mishap and a scene at the record store where they find one of Dazzler's records. Fox will probably end up double dipping again with a second blu-Ray release called "The Mall Cut" or something.
But on continuity matters, I give a lot of slack to X-men. From the comics, it's almost a part of X-men's charm how wrecked its continuity is. At least they seem to be setting up their Wolverine replacement in the post credits scene. Jackman would be nearly impossible to replace, so they're making the right move if it goes as expected:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/artic … ise-debuts
Sinister could also give the avenue for Havok to return given Sinister's obsession with the Summers family in the comics.
With DC Rebirth, it looks like they're going back to the legacy idea (something that had been part of DC's fabric since the first JSA crossover back in the 60's). Legacy was really the defining characteristic of DC, and it's the right move to reclaim it. As you read over the decades, the DC characters kind of became part of the family. You watched them grow; you watched the baton pass from one generation to the next. Certainly Batman and Superman never changed, but it was easy to forgive when the rest of the universe was so rich.
The New 52 was half-baked in my opinion. Most of that is Dan Didio's fault as he notoriously micromanaged everything (to the point that he was changing scripts and having pages redrawn 4 and 5 times on tight deadlines before printing). Didio was all over the place never seeming to know what he wanted to do, and it showed. Geoff Johns shares some responsibility (he's the one who could not let go of the pre-Crisis past to let DC continuing growing), but Johns obviously had little say in the New 52 until now.
I've read some accounts and speculation the Rebirth is a veiled commentary on the behind he scenes at DC. Dr. Manhattan is Dan Didio; the cold, calculating figure who re-made the universe and continues to fiddle with it through destruction (such as with Pandora). Manhattan holds the broken watch he can't fix. On the other hand, Wally is Geoff Johns. He remembers how great things were, but he has been locked away as a spectator unable to effect change until now.
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see if DC can be salvaged at this point. The question mark is whether Didio can truly be reigned in or will he assert himself and tear things apart all over again. I think it is a true behind the scenes battle that mirrors the comic in many ways. Who will win?
They could hypothetically bring Teddy Sears to play a good guy version of Hunter Zolomon who became Flash instead of Barry (if saving his mom makes him no longer be the Flash).
Hunter started out as a good guy in the comics; he was a detective with the police department if I remember right. He became Zoom because his wife was killed and Flash refused to go back in time and save her. Hunter decided to use the cosmic treadmill to do it himself, but it blew up on him since he wasn't a speedster; the tachyon discharge then made him "fast" (actually he just slowed down time around him like Turtle).
Zoom's m.o. was that he believed heroes became better through tragedy, so he was always trying to kill Wally's loved ones to "help" him. They kind of gave a shade of that idea at the end of season two on CW.
Informant wrote:It would be interesting if it changed the whole Arrowverse. I don't know that they would actually do that though... would Laurel be alive? I imagine that this would have limited ripples for people up to the point where they met Barry, but you never know.
It'd be limited but there could be tons of ripples.
If I remember correctly, it was stated in season one that Barry still became Flash in the original timeline where his mother lived; Thawne just manipulated things to make the Star Labs accident happen sooner. But, that doesn't mean that in the original timeline Caitlyn and Cisco would have ended up working at a Star Labs (Thawne hired them). Also, what about Eddie? He had no reason to kill himself if Thawne never became Wells. This could also mean Cold would still be alive having never went with Rip because he wasn't Cold yet (Rip and the others possibly being protected because they were in the time stream or at Vanishing Point when the changes occurred).
All in all, I'm looking forward to what they do with it. They have an opportunity to bring back the feel and excitement of season one which is something I felt was missing in season two.
Ah... yeah, that reference didn't land at all.
I just found this article where it was even promoted like a big deal, and it was nothing. At least have somebody scream Rock or something.
And how did she happen to find the WWII helmet that Rip owns and recognize it as that one specific helmet?
It was clearly meant to be some kind of reference to Sgt. Rock, but they didn't even attempt to make the reference worth anything (or even clear).
I don't get the AOL Comics line. Maybe I'm just tired.
Quesada made the comment back when DC was part of the massive juggernaut know as Time Warner AOL. I think he picked out AOL because it was letters just like DC; but ultimately he was making a poke at DC being corporate comics with stories made by committee. Ironic given that Marvel would later be absorbed by Disney.
As for the LoT finale, I wasn't really satisfied. It's hard for me to put into words, but it feels like it was a story someone was making up as they went along - kind of like Jon Lovitz marrying Morgan Fairchild. Yeah; that's the ticket.

At least Hourman brings a lot of potential with him. Rex's story intertwines with the android Hourman from the far future; the Worlogog map; his ancestry in Amazo; the tachyon hourglass; the Justice Legion of the 853rd century; the John Fox Flash of the 27th century; and Solaris - the star that was turned into a sentient computer. Of course, they seem focused on the Justice Society, so I'm not sure how far they'll delve into Hourman's life.
One thing I wondered about, though. I thought Flash's glimpse at the future at the end of season one was looking forward to a Legends appearance when the giant robot foot smashes through the warehouse roof. I wonder where that will pop up now (if I'm even remembering it right).
Haven't seen this mentioned yet, but DC is changing its company logo again:
It's going to integrated across all media, so expect to see that monstrosity at the end of the DC shows next season.
I still miss the DC bullet from 1976 to 2005. Here's a look at logos from DC history:
The initial rumors have the first season set somewhere just after the 6th movie, "The Undiscovered Country"; and that's probably one of the eras I'm least interested in. For me, it would feel like a step backward instead of a step forward. Bakula's Enterprise had a similar problem, but at least it's history was new to us. A revisit to the Undiscovered Country era is just going to be pure retread.
Maybe they're thinking they need to do it first before George Takei dies - all of his adventures as Captain Sulu are in that era.
Marvel has pushed back the Captain Marvel movie in favor of films with male leads twice already and probably will do so more times. They don't appear particularly eager to make movies with female leads.
Marvel may have reason to push it forward now. With DC planning a Shazam movie, Marvel has to do something to retain the Captain Marvel trademark with regard to movies and other merchandise.
Marvel swiped the name while DC was asleep at the wheel in the 60's, and as a result Marvel has to publish a comic with the Captain Marvel masthead at least once every ten years to keep the trademark (which is why we get the odd Captain Marvel one-shot or mini-series every so often). Marvel hasn't been worried about movies and tv for a long time because DC didn't seem to care about doing anything with Shazam, but DC appears to be forcing the issue now.
The Captain Marvel name has been a bitter piece of business between Marvel and DC for decades, and you can bet it's on their minds.
As an aside, this trademark stuff is probably part of the reason we keep seeing these spread out releases of Sliders on DVD. Since it's related to film, Universal is doing that to hold onto the Sliders trademark. However, they've obviously let it lapse on books, clothing, etc. it's one of the reasons I've been surprised we haven't seen a Sliders comic even as just a one shot - it's worth it just to protect their trademark.
I read an article awhile back that the insurance companies are going to be raising rates in October due to the failing Obamacare policies. Could be an October surprise for a lot of people.
Captain Marvel, I don't know anything about.
To relate it to the cinematic / television universe, Carol Danvers is basically the answer to what would happen if the experiments that brought Agent Coulson back to life were a complete success. She's a complete Kree / human hybrid due to an accident involving the original Captain Marvel; and she has Superman-esque powers sometimes with added energy projection ability (i.e. hand blasts).
For most of her time in comics, Carol has been more associated with the X-men (the mutant Rogue holding on too long and permanently absorbing Carol's powers and memories); but about 16 years ago, they brought Carol back as an Avenger. A couple of years ago, Captain America basically just came out and asked why she wasn't calling herself Captain Marvel since the original was long dead, so she just started calling herself Captain Marvel.
Rampant speculation on my part; but now that Nathan Fillion is freed up, I could see him as Mar-vell in a Carol Danvers Captain Marvel movie.
If Mar-vell's powers got transferred to Carol, he could play the powerless sidekick role (kind of like Rick Jones).
Here's one of those click-bait articles that popped up when reading some "news":
http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-new … net_749129
The bit I found interesting was the mention of the Scientology party twenty years ago. Given it was both Jerry and his brother in LA, that was probably during the time he was filming Sliders (either season three or more likely season four).
