I met JRD at NYCC a few years ago and he was awesome. I hate how expensive NYCC is, but I didn't hesitate to get an autograph and photo op with him. I hope to meet Jerry and other some day.

Grizzlor, you must be from NY also because you're going to all the local shows! I'm an LI guy.

There's a lot to parse from your post, but to answer your main question: Yes, self publishing is a viable route.

I've published one novel and a handful of short stories on Amazon and other platforms. I can offer three words of advice:

1. Don't cheap out on editing. You need to have your novel professionally edited. This is NOT optional.
2. Commission a good cover. Everyone will judge your book by it and it needs to be up to snuff.
3. Even if this is a hobby and you're not looking to make a go of it, don't use that as an excuse to cut corners. Be smart, remember that money always flows TOWARD the author, and ask around if you're not sure.

Happy to talk further about this and answer any other questions. Hit me up here or on Twitter: @aaroncrocco.

initial prints of two parts (the face and back) came out okay. However, my printer has been experiencing issues where it prints things smaller than intended. My replacement printer arrived yesterday so once it's set up, I can try again.

Great videos! smile

Do you have more behind the scenes videos from seasons 1, 3, 4, 5?

That's all I've got. Sorry!

As someone with a 3D printer I was elated today to come across this timer model. I'm busting out a print right now so we'll see how it turns out in a few hours.

Does the story ever get public? I'd love to just read what other people have put together.

It was public but I had prying eyes and decided to make it private. However you can read the first season we did as well.

Any chance you're interested?

However, we tried that and... well, we hit the problem I described above; the people contributing to the project came to the gradual but inescapable conclusion that they would gain more profit from doing their own stuff. Hell, Matt is constantly advising me to drop the SLIDERS stuff and write my spunky teen girl detective series instead.

Has anyone actually approached Universal proposing books or comics? I know there's an entire publishing arm that has to go with it, but I've found that tie-in works to a property can sometimes be easier to achieve.

I've been running a Sliders game over on Storium for a long time and we've had a player drop out due to personal reasons. I know we have some awesome writers here (like Ib) and if anyone is interesting in joining Storium, I'd love to add another fan to the game.

The game content is locked, but you can learn more about it here https://storium.com/game/erp-chronicles … -2/scene-6.

If you're interested in playing, hit me up via Storium PM or respond here.

Thanks!

What I think the true issues are with Sliders is this: It never had enough traction when it WAS on TV to ever get a second thought as a reboot. We have to remember some key things about Sliders:

1. We fought tooth and nail to get season two made. If it wasn't for the email campaign that crashed FOX's servers, Sliders would've joined VR-5 for good.

2. Sliders still was on the bubble for a pickup on season three. That was never guaranteed.

3. Sliders was never a ratings hit to justify much attention. Hence why episodes were out of order for every FOX season and how much the network meddled in it. If Sliders was a hit out of the park, they'd be hands-off and let production handle itself like with X-Files.

4. Scifi made some good strides to get the show back on track but they too never gave the show enough budget or direction to take it to the next level.

Sliders was always the "little show that could" and I still am amazed that we got five seasons. We had to fight for every single one of them. If you look to a much more popular show like Quantum Leap, that STILL has no chance of coming back and that was way more popular than Sliders, IMO.

I want a reboot / reimagining more than anyone and the fact that Jerry is on board is a HUGE plus. However, it's a property that is a bit tarnished due to how it was handled and no major powerhouse to champion it.

At the end of the day, without someone who holds actual power either at NBC Universal open to the idea of bringing it back, Sliders has no chance. This makes me wonder if the efforts to do something need to be more focused on the business side such as trying to bring it to the attention of Netflix's brass or working to contact Universal and getting their attention. Once someone's eyes are on it, THEN we pounce with a Kickstarter / Jerry / petition / mass movement.

Last year I posted that I'd found an old copy of the Sliders Season Two press kit and imported it from VHS, found here:   (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s … ent=safari) Unfortunately due to copyright claims, YouTube took it down twice and I was never able to edit it in a way to get past their checks.

But there's good news. After some prodding on Twitter, I'm happy to announce the Sliders Season Two Electronic Press Kit is once again available! It's been split into two parts due to limits on DailyMotion. Here are the links:

This is a rare and quite awesome piece of Sliders history and I hope everyone can enjoy these behind the scenes shots and cast interviews. I'd love to hear any feedback or thoughts from you guys if you end up watching it.

Enjoy!

I have a button and a sign from The Seer, but I'd have to search a bit for it. I've gone through a few moves since acquiring them. Those are my only props. Aside from that, my best items are my set scrips. I even got my Luck of the Draw script signed by JRD at NYCC this past fall.

FANTASTIC interview! Not only is it a great interview, but I love that it's all Sliders. I wonder if Torme's call is truly recent or if it's those rumored calls we've heard about from the past few years.
