Let's see, reason one, traveling and Netflix fills the need to not carry discs. Reason two, they are packed in a box in storage, because you are inbetween dwellings. Reason three, housesitting and bored, so again you turn to Netflix. Reason four, you are at a friend's house and they look at you strange and ask what is a Slider, and you go to Netflix to introduce them to a great show. I could continue, but won't.
On BTW Netflix is great to introduce friends and family to all kinds of shows, Doctor Who, Walking Dead, Flash, Arrow, Shield, FireFly, etc. I was just recommending Sliders to a group of writers at GenCon, who didn't know there had been a dimension traveling adventure show. Hopefully, I created more Sliders fans. If nothing else I gave them a good place for researching that subject.

So since I saw the board vs real life post, I thought I would mention this subject. I know in the past some of the board members were gamers, but not sure if any are still avid players or even attend Cons much anymore. Just to let people know I am a longtime GenConer. This year will be my 11th year attending and 6th year spending at least half my time in the Writer's Symposium. BTW for any who have no clue what GenCon is, it is the largest gaming convention in the world. Guests this year are Media: Summer Glau, Marina Sirtis, and Authors: Terry Brooks, Chuck Wendig, Patrick Rothfuss, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, and a lot more. Also seemingly becoming a regularly is Wil Wheaton.
So just putting it out there if you are attending first time or older-timer, you need any hints, tips, suggestions, help, etc. Just let me know. Basically since I live here in Indy, I know the area very well. And since I have attended all but 1 year it has been here I am definitely experienced.

Wow, glad to see the board is back.
After a cursory glance at the user list, I probably have chatted with or emailed with a fourth. Although I recognize about half due to continued lurking, but as before this seems to be a male dominated board. I definitely miss the old crowd, but I am quite amused by the fact some of the conversations you guys are having are echoed in my writing group, gaming group, and friends.
At the moment Info is the only one I have continue to talked to on occasion, most recently when the anniversary and the board crash happened. Luckily we are both on Twitter and able to communicate. As for personally meeting anyone, Tf is the only one I have had the chance to know offline. As he said at one time we lived in the same city, and he actually helped save Christmas one year. BTW Tf she still treasures the gifts you gave her. She wouldn't go off to college without them and even uses the ornaments on her tree each year. Thank you for that my friend.
As I mentioned, I miss the old crowd, but as it always happens. We grow up. we move on as life changes. Hopefully the board remains for a very long time.
