Topic: Sabrina Lloyd Quote Source

Hey y'all!
Annie Fish here. I'm working on the last edits for the book version of Think of a Roulette Wheel, and I'm trying to find the source of this quote from Sabrina Lloyd re: "Time Again & World"—

”I’ve noticed the difference in Wade already — she is being written much stronger this year. In the very first episode, she saves the day. It’s something I really wanted, and it made me realize my voice was being heard, that the writers believed in me. Through these adventures, I think she has become a bit of a wild woman. She’s getting more and more daring.

“I think she’s much more comfortable in her sexuality now. She has really changed. I think she’s one of the strongest characters in the show in the sense that she knows what she wants, she’s a fighter. She now goes into these parallel worlds and tries to help when she can, and learns from the experiences. Before I think she was more of an observer.”

When I try to look up this quote online, I'm only getting hits on EarthPrime's "The Inside Slide" (which doesn't say where she said this), and my own blog (lol).

Thanks in advance. I'll probably be back here a few times with posts like these— I'm trying to not have a book full of "it says on Dimension of Continuity that ____", you know?

Let us know when the book is out!

I have been really busy, and been stalled on my own epub production for my stuff. I'm glad one of us is making progress.

Ah, great!
I had that one earmarked for John Rhys-Davies' sassy-ass quotes, not Sabrina. Thank you!

The book still has a long way to go (it's, uh, 548 pages at current count... uh oh), but I'm trying to truck along! Hopefully by the 30th Anniversary, but who knows!

Re: Sabrina Lloyd Quote Source

Well, you can get the next one.

Also, while looking, I noticed that Sabrina Lloyd's "The Girl With Something Extra" interview ( https://earthprime.com/articles/the-gir … ing-extra/ ) describes her pre-SLIDERS career where she starred in an movie on HBO where she plays a teenaged lesbian who wants to go with her girlfriend to prom. That was actually an episode of an anthology TV show, not a film, and you can see the episode here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjPG0QVsFdI&t

Re: Sabrina Lloyd Quote Source

okay it's time for "the next one," let's see if y'all can help me before i start trudging through the internet archive:
i'm working on the "Double Cross" essay,
and i'm looking for A) a scan of the sliders section described in this TV Guide Fall Preview (as quoted on the EP capsule):

"What ever became of Logan St. Clair? According to the September 1996 TV Guide Fall Preview, Logan was definitely created to be a recurring character/villain. Yet she never appeared in another episode of the series."

and B) where this interview with Paul Jackson came from:

“Fox killed Logan because they didn’t think she was ‘hot’ enough,” says writer Paul Jackson. “Another smart network move, yes? She was a great character and we had just started to think about her return (obviously she was coming back!) when they told us to forget it.

“We had foreseen as many as two more eps with her: one where she returns and confronts Quinn head on and one where she actually changes her loyalties and dies trying to save ‘herself’ (Quinn). Sadly, it was never meant to be.”

thank y'all once again in advance.

P.S. lmao this line:

"For the record, the staff at Earth Prime all think Zoe is hot."

Re: Sabrina Lloyd Quote Source

I thought that Paul Jackson quote came from Matt having some conversations with Jackson which Matt elected to put into various entries of the episode guides rather than writing up a full interview.

That's definitely what that appears to be.
If I can get confirmation on that (or... a full transcript (wishing upon a star)), I can just cite that for the book.

Re: Sabrina Lloyd Quote Source

Oh. Well, I'd suggest you get in touch with Matt. That was really before my time. Also, I am not a SLIDERS historian. I am a SLIDERS fanfic writer.

I think at this point, we're all historians here.

While I'm still here, does anyone have a copy of Brad Linaweaver's "Sliders: The Classic Episodes" handy? Mine's in storage (whoops!) and I need a scan of the Tormé interview in there.

Re: Sabrina Lloyd Quote Source

Try contacting Thomas at slidecage.com. He dissuaded me from buying a used copy at a bookstore six years ago when I saw it for sale, so it's really on him that I can't help you out here.

Sorry, I was AWOL for a few months.  I scanned and transcribed the interview section of the book earlier this year.
