Sliders.tv → Sliders Bboard → Which Sliders have you met?
Who from Sliders have you guys all met? Actors, producers, etc., even small guest spots.
I’ve only met Scott Decker (Kryoptus in Dying Fields), back on a trip to Universal Studios Florida in the early 1990s, when he was filming an intro to GamePro PowerUp (using the Back To the Future car). I got to be an extra in that scene!
I could probably do a "six degrees" thing, and connect myself to Sliders through people that I've worked with, but I can't think of anyone that I've met or worked with directly. I don't really go to cons or anything like that.
On the acting side, I've met Cleavant and Jerry. On the production side, I've met Paul Jackson, Jon Povill, Tracy Torme, and Marc Zicree.
I didn't know you'd met Jerry. What happened there? I knew Jerry had met your wife and hit on her unsuccessfully when she was interning at MTV before your marriage and while you were both taking a break. You blogged, rather grimly, "It's heartening to know Jerry wants my ex." And you met Charlie O'Connell at a bowling alley, didn't you?
I met Peter Jurasik Dr. Oberon Geiger, really great guy, just went to talk to him and walked away with a signed photo (that I didn't pay for) that he insisted I have.
I almost met Kari Wuhrer, twice. But that doesn't count does it.

Although I didn't meet COC at the bowling alley - I just saw him there. The story about running into JOC is dumb and not worth mentioning publicly, mostly because my friends who lived the "adventure" continue to give me shit about it to this day.
Fun fact: COC and my son share a birthday. AMAZING
Never met anyone. But I've never really pursued it. The only genre celebrity I've ever had any real interaction with is Jason David Frank.

I don’t think I approve of you, Transmodiar, hoarding away a trinket of anecdotal SLIDERS trivia and refusing to divulge it on the grounds that your friends mock you for it when that only indicates how urgently you must divulge it.
Well, as you probably have seen in the past, I go to a ton of conventions, film sets, stage doors, etc, etc. That being said, I do love meeting actors who have appeared on Sliders, and if time permits, asking them about it. Of course my big want is to meet Tracy Torme.

Cleavant I finally tracked down at a play house in Hartford, CT, in 2016. He was in a hurry, but a barrel of laughs. Finally Kari I met at the Chiller Theatre in NJ back in 2014, and she even gave me a big smooch on the cheek! Sabrina I probably won't even track down, Robert Floyd is out of the biz, and Tembi Locke is acting in NCIS I believe, and has a book coming out.

Thanks. Unfortunately, most of the Vancouver-based actors I'll never get to meet. Many of them are more or less retired, or just do guest spots on the shows up there that mainly CW shoots. Gaffney would be on my wishlist for sure, along with Tracy, Sabrina of course, Zoe McClellan (Designated Survivor just got axed), Tembi, and Floyd.

When I met Jeffrey at RICC, I was there to get a handful of stuff signed for other people, and one for myself (Supernatural poster I preferred to pay for rather than lug around the Manhattan streets). So I had a minute or two to chat, and I mentioned Sliders. His eyes lit up, and he went on and on about the show, how he loved the concept, and that it was nuts that nobody has done it again since. You could tell that if he had been given a shot, he would have 100% loved to work on the series full time. You will not meet a cooler/nicer actor than JDM.
Anyway, his autograph was like $80 I think. The Chiller Expo guests I've paid for were usually like $20 bucks. John Rhys-Davies was maybe $40. Beyond him, Corey Feldman I guess. Sliders didn't exactly have a ton of heavy hitters, and Jerry doesn't do conventions (yet).
It's funny how Sliders seems to have stuck with so many of the guest stars. You'd think it'd just be a job for most of them, and quickly forgotten.
I met a woman named Diana Davis today
I met JRD at NYCC a few years ago and he was awesome. I hate how expensive NYCC is, but I didn't hesitate to get an autograph and photo op with him. I hope to meet Jerry and other some day.

Yea man, I'm in NJ! Last weekend I hit up the X-files mini-convention near Chicago, called X-Fest 2. They had multiple guest star Larry Musser there. I of course tried to jog his Sliders memory, as he played Jake the handyman a few times in S1. He didn't recall much, in fact, he swore he was Quinn's dad! He was partially correct as on one of the worlds, Jake DID marry Mrs. M! LOL. Super nice guy.

I've heard of X-Fest. What was attendance like? I think I emailed them once, telling them they should have a little sister subconvention for Sliders fans at the event.
It was pretty small, I'd estimate no more than 60 people on Saturday.
Recently I ran into Robert Cuccioli, who is frequently acting in Broadway and Off-Broadway theater in New York. Don't ask me why I hadn't before, but I had some free time one night. He was, as expected, surprised I gave a crap about him, ha ha. He did recall the episode (Heavy Metal) in which he was in, and mentioned that the show was a lot of fun to do. I did confirm that the long hair/mullet he had was in fact real!

I caught up with Cleavant and Jerry over the last month or so in New York. Derricks leaving Wicked the Musical of course, while Jerry appeared on Andy Cohen's show. Both were very nice as always. Jerry remembered me and was appreciative of the Twitter Sliders Rewatches but he apologized he didn't have time to do it. Neither sounded too optimistic about Sliders reboot. but they did sign my cards and Jerry hit a few comics too!
